Boy howdy, was this a hell of a process.

So first I had to dye the fabric. The chest part of the sleeve is a dark teal and the sleeve is a gradient from the teal on the rest of his outfit to the dark teal. I only had a very limited amount of teal fabric which I ALREADY custom dyed, so there was a BIG amount of stress durring the dying process. I'm pretty dang happy with the results, though!

I threw together a sleeve and part of a chest from two existing patterns and modified them to get the base pattern, then I made a mockup, drew on the style lines, cut everything out, added seam allowance, and I had a new pattern for all the bits I needed.

Before I could sew the sleeve together, I needed to iron on the cloud designs. I drew them onto my mockup, traced them onto tracing paper, scanned them, cleaned them up in illustrator, and with the help of my friend Cellaira, cut them out of bronze vinyl using a cricut machine. I then carefully ironed the designs on.

To give the gold part of the sleeve a bit of dimension, I sandwiched a piece of neoprene between two pieces of fabric. I glued it to the bottom piece and then carefully sewed alone the outside edge of the neoprene on the top piece. Then I sewed the gold piece to the dark green pieces and added a pleather binding around the edge.

To make the strap, I braided cording I found in a close color to my fabric and hand sewed it down to a strap made from the pleather and a thin strip of the gold.

The paw pendant was a 3d print purchased from the Dangerous Ladies I painted and added a little clear up resin to add dimension. To attach it to the strap, I used up resin to adhere two skirt hooks to the back of the pendant and then sewed it to the strap. To finish it up, I sewed the back of the strap to the back of the sleeve and sewed large snaps to the front of the sleeve and the underside of the front of the strap.

As always, if anything doesn't make any sense, please let me know in the comments!
