Deets Skirts were made from fabrics harvested from several skirts from Goodwill. I dyed all the fabric in a pot with a mixture of tea and coffee. For the coffee, I put a big pot of water on the stove, dumped like 4 cups of instant coffee into it, and then let the fabric soak on low heat for about an hour. I did the same thing with tea bags after. I didn't mix the fabric around too much and let some of the piece poke out of the water because I wanted an Uber blotchy dye job. I was super happy how they turned out!

Once the fabric was rinsed and dried, I sewed the skirts together and put them on a new piece of elastic that fit my waste. I used scissors and mostly my hands to rip uneven layers into the skirt. All of the scraps I ripped off I saved to glue into the underside of the tunic to add the random bits of torn fabric Deet has hanging over her skirt.
