Hello 😸💜 Can I just say, where has the first week of January gone?! It's flown by! I haven't had as much opportunity for time off as I would have liked, apart from Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years. I am taking Wednesday off with minimal work so I guess it adds up here and there!

I hope everyone is doing as well as can be 😊 This was such a great episode. I get SO much pleasure from watching Angel. The theme music hypes me up every time. It's got to be one of the most beautiful themes I've ever heard... I adore it 🥰

Hey Juliette! Happy new year if I didn't say it before. The theme is by Darling Violetta. You can look it up on YouTube if you want to listen to it outside the show. This episode is one of those ones that often in my eyes gets overlooked. I really enjoy it. It's such a simple premise but it does so much to showcase all of our main characters and also advance the W&H story. Definitely here for this one.

Great reaction to a solid episode! I don't think Cordelia made the demon database thing, she's just using it. She was complaining about the name of it so it would be weird if she made it. Wesley knew of the existence of those demon fight clubs and heard rumors they were a thing again, but he didn't know enough to warn Angel that they were happening in LA. Wesley wasn't head boy of the watcher's academy for nothing. He probably has the vastest knowledge of the occult of any character we have seen so far, including Giles.

This is an episode that I often forget about but then when I watch it I really quite enjoy it. So, gambling on an underground demon fighting ring, maybe not the best place for a first date but the crowd certainly looked like they were having a fun time! (Or were until Angel showed up and ruined it, the big spoilsport!) Like you said in the outro, both Cordelia and Wesley are really starting to grow and are proving themselves to be integral to Angel's mission of helping the helpless. I'm reminded of an old Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, A.W.O.L/Lionheart, when I watch this one. The movie doesn't have demons, but it does have rich people betting on underground fights. (It's decently good as far as JCVD movies go, with quite a moving story) Love the funny little moment at the end. Basically, "We did a good thing and set the captives free!"...realise they released a bunch of demons out into the world... "ummm..." 😂 Great reaction as always Juliette. Now go and give yourself a few days off to relax, I won't take no for an answer!!

Yeah, I misunderstood in that scene haha! Wesley said something like "YOUR database" and I took it way too literally 🤣 He's like Giles with his love of books. Must be ingrained into them at the Council! Wesley really is SO much more than I ever knew he'd be! He really is something 🥰

Neil!! I am actually having today off hehe! I'm watching a basketball game today so minimal work and some team cheering later on 🥰 I would LOVE to see some of those demons in a future episode!! It must be such blurred lines at times. Clearly in this instance, the humans were in the wrong, but what do you do with a bunch of demons? Let's maybe hope they are all nice demons like Doyle 🤣 I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and stay warm if you are part of the very cold areas over there! I've heard it's not too nice weather right now. I'd gladly send you some of my heat. No, please, take it 😜

I really like this episode. I'm glad I was able to watch it today now that I'm starting to feel a little bit better. I've been out of commission for the past four days with an awful flu.
