Yesterday it was both my Dad's birthday AND the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the year of the Wood Dragon! Given my love for dragons as both an artist and an author who literally wrote books about tiny dragons, I felt it to be my DUTY to draw something special for the occasion and picked up my pens and markers after years of them laying dormant on my desk.

I used to draw with color pencils for a LONG TIME, it was my main medium as a child and I picked up the tablet pen quite late. Got my first tablet for Christmas at age 15 in 2011, that's when I began to dive into digital art. GOD, that was 12 years ago, jesus christ...

But I'm glad to see I haven't gotten rusty with my pens after using them so sparingly over the past few years! I think the last time I used them was on a vacation in Denmark 3-4 years back? Insane.

I think I'll most likely put this illustration up in my Redbubble store, I'm very happy with it, just have to adjust the format a bit so it can be printed on Posters and postcards. Maybe even on a shirt if I manage to mask the dragon so the background will be transparent.

Hope y'all have a great year of the dragon!
