[Starts late, but it's the important part.]

HISTORY:

I believe RRR is the first of Rajamouli's films to be Skandie-eligible. In any case, we've not seen him before.

In addition to her two previously noted "nominated" performances (see that post, between #6 and #5), Hall placed 10th in Supporting for Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). Dano gets his third nod, following #7s for There Will Be Blood (2007) and #10 for Love & Mercy (2015). Park and Palmer are new. Clearly there's been a turning point of some kind—no Korean actor named Park had placed prior to 2019, and since then we've seen Park So-dam (Parasite), Park Yu-rim (Drive My Car), Park Ji-min (Return to Seoul) and Park Hae-il (Decision to Leave). These are the things you discover when you maintain an alphabetical master list.

Johnson's history in Screenplay can mostly be found in the nominations post, but he also placed 9th for The Brothers Bloom (2009). Only his Last Jedi script has missed.

Palmer as “supporting” is patently absurd.

Both of Rajamouli's Baahubali films were also eligible (2015 and 2017 respectively).

I believe I was the lone vote for Baahubali 2 in the 2017 Skandies. Topped my Best Picture ballot!

This seems like a good moment to tell people that EEGA is a pretty hilarious movie and well worth your time. You'll believe a fly can fly!
