Well, let's hope Tuesday turns out to be as much of a blowout as was this week's request poll. After three consecutive Halloween-themed choices, my actual Halloween viewing will be...Akira Kurosawa's The Bad Sleep Well, which clobbered An American Werewolf in London 59% to 40%. It's currently streaming on the Criterion Channel. Never seen it, don't know a thing about it apart from Kurosawa's name and the year of release. I think Mifune stars? [Quickly checks] Okay, and I vaguely remembered that. Anyway, pretty stoked for this, even if it doesn't appear to be anyone's favorite.

As a bonus for someone (don't recall who), tonight I'll also be revisiting The Sting, which was briefly a poll option long ago, logging four weeks before being retired. It just turned out to be a good choice for next week's A.V. Club "Watch This" feature, but I can now also remove it from the random drawing pool.

That'd be me. And since I am also the one whose request just got clobbered, it's all the better to score this unofficial win.

It was on Coppola’s 2012 Sight and Sound ballot, IIRC. So, it is at least someone influential’s favorite. Well, kinda sorta. I’m also pretty sure he listed 2 from Kurosawa, but whatever.

The Bad Sleep Well actually IS my favorite Kurosawa, and probably my favorite movie.

It's my favorite movie title that would also make a good band name.
