Behind-the-Scenes: Hugo Costume Design (Patreon)

Last year, I worked with SNAPS to create some options for the cast's wardrobe for the Flux Destiny series. Here's a set of drawings with my notes and his iterations on them.

I wanted Hugo to look "accidentally cool" - like he crashed his bike into a Goodwill and came out looking cool lol.

Hugo's family is struggling financially at the start of the next book, and he rarely gets new clothes—they're mostly hand-me-downs from his older brothers. Obviously things like socks aren't hand-me-downs, but he has lots of mismatched pairs which only add to his particular GOodwill-chic.

I wanted SNAPS to combine random things. Like for example, his Wolfgang Academy tunic with a mismatched jacket, etc. Even his 888 delivery boy outfit is a combination of things... between his tang-suit jacket, to his soccer shorts and mismatched socks.

I wanted a realistic feeling so that when he and Marco end up on the road, that their outfits are made from combining what they have on hand.
