Alright, so this is a real image from the upcoming game update.

I know people will prefer 2D, but what do you think?

I sculpted the shirt, and the bottom was an asset I edited. I also sculpted the plate haha!
I let you see the raw 3D render including the 2D filter so you can understand how it works for me.

I make the render and then draw over it.

The longest part is the character creation but once it's done, the posing take just a few minutes, the rendering is 1 minute, and then the drawing is around 20 min. I think if I'd do it from scratch (except the BG) it would take more than 2 hours, maybe 3.

I could also use it for scenes that would've take me like 5 hours for a 10 sentence dialogue, I now feel less limited to the scenes and visuals.
In "drawing from scratch" mode, I have to make a scene that "I can draw" without wasting too much energy, so I tend to make people not move or zoomed camera to hide elements too much energy demanding.

Honestly I like the result and I don't think it's "too much" changing, but maybe I'm biased, idk. Ngl it was a lot easier, physically, to work like this.

Things to take into consideration:

- People often compare with the best art of Emma, but don't forget there is also ugly failures of her.

- After I finish crafting all 3D models (I wait to finish Emma's update before starting sculpting Berry and Sarena) if people accept this kind of art, I might come back to a monthly update, I mean considering the reduction of time I could be able to reach 1 update per month again. As a creator, I miss that, I don't feel good when I do a month without content.
If people really don't like it I'd maybe do less but I won't abandon it, it make my creator life much more easier.

- I'm not replacing the past content, past base posing, with 3D. This new process is to move forward.

Concerning animations:

I'm not doing 3D animations, because when it moves it's "too much" 3D so it's too much changing, I'm gonna keep 2D animation for the whole game of CwG.

I really hope you'll like it, because I personally like it. But don't lie to me just for my ego x)

i truly think you should keep your art style, its so original and good. Thats why i fall in love with the game. But do what is the best for you or do this technic in your next game.

I agree, what kept me into this game was the art work much more than any others I've played. Stay original, 3D is neat and all, but your drawings are unique and more interesting
