Hey folks,

The basic tiles are about half way done. Still working out exactly how many I will create. There are alot of possible configurations to consider. It makes me wonder do I do them all?

Doing them all will mean alot of tiles but it also might make things a little complicated when building. My aim is to try and give choice but still keep a simplistic design path.

It is certainly a challenge. Though I am enjoying it immensely.

So what have I done for the second day of development?

Well as you see there is alot more tile configuration. I have the first set of stairs on the 4 wide tile type.

Oh! I also decided I will be doing the following tile sizes; 1, 2 and 4

This does mean I have had to stray away from only doing 6x6 tiles. As I have also started to make 6x3 for the smaller floor sizes. I was rather reluctant at first but after testing it still keeps to the simplistic design path I have been trying to follow.

There are also connector tiles which I call mergers to allow for easy transition from tiles sizes. As I develop more tiles though a big design decision props up. Infact I spoke of it at the start of this post, tile complexity.

Basically, as I make more tiles and especially now I have 3 tiles sizes, the amount of possible merger tiles increases. So my dilemma as stated at the start of the post is... well how many of these possibilities do I create?

All of them or some of them?

I have no clear answer yet, but as I push through with more tiles I will just need to be mindful of the design path.. simplicity and choice, finding that balance will be the key! (Ive been watching too much star wars lately it seems)
