I am become reply guy

The right kind of News is what will fix things, sure. There is no threshold that when crossed will cause spontaneous mass action by the American public. Regulation isn’t the only thing that has been captured. As has been said ad nauseum on this pod no one has the imagination or capacity to even take the first step towards any future except by making meaningless and unorganized personal choices. Ask yourself, if you were empowered tomorrow to remake the entire political economy in any way you saw fit would you even know where to start? Or would you only be able to vaguely point towards the forces we’ve all become too familiar with?

Gumbo Pie

He's wrong. We pay taxes for Pete to live. Anyone remember the days of Tar and Feathering these fucks, in Minecraft?

Beej

Right. These bureaucrats hands are just absolutely tied when it comes to unilaterally fixing problems, but when it comes to unilaterally repealing laws, no problem.

fucking Amtrak is winning legal battles against Norfolk Southern and Mayo Pete is like "uhhh let me be clear; I hear you; and I see you"

Scot Forsythe

Lol Brownie babee… dude was the ultimate patsy given the fact that FEMA was gutted right before he took office…

Although the point about Enron is valid I wouldn’t use that since the accountants are still racking in millions through their consulting.

Micheline

Appreciate David’s use of “crick” right off the top.

Yes I would know exactly where to start and that by giving myself all of the money

All the Bernie Sanders “supporters” going after Buttigeig with such venom and vigor just looks petty because he won a primary over Sanders.

Elliot Matheny

I am certainly still very petty over the fact that Buttigieg won that primary by negative 6,000 votes.

SF

you still kicking about huh zach?

Cthulhusbedandbreakfast

Y’all should hit up the Well There’s Your Problem Podcast if you wanna do a deeper dive on the railroad industry and how shit it is.

Buy your vinyl chloride (and everything else) locally or not at all. It is possible to boycott monopolies, you just stop consuming the product. The notion that you can't is just weak-willed fake liberal justification for personal and societal addictions to consumption of bullshit.

etienne

so your comment is really particularly brain dead but Sirota's original comment was also pretty brain dead too because we historically know what it looks like when railroads compete with each other and it generally results in a cycle of price wars, corporate collapses and takeover. He has antimonopolist brain poisoining.

Bernie Madoff and Sam Bankman Fried were prosecuted because they fucked over ruling class investors. Anyone responsible at Norfork Southern or BP/Exxon/Shell or corrupt regulators like Pete the Rat will never see consequences because their primary victims are the poor and working class in America, and developing countries.
