We take a long look at our techno-feudal overlords with Amazon's announcement of its new HQ2 in New York City (and some other place) and the New York Times' investigation into Facebook's attempts to avoid regulation through conservative oppo research group "The Definers". We then examine acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker's attempt to patent "masculine toilets" and find Bigfoot through DNA. Fans of Chapo Classic™ rejoice: Matt's back on Tin Can-quality audio.

I live in Hong Kong, and I travel to the mainland. China does some things right and some things wrong. Don’t believe the hype in the U.S.: state-subsidized electric cars make Shanghai so peaceful. Why do they want us to think there’s nothing to learn from China?

Took some time off from the Chapo listening life to get through the mid-terms and just came back to hear a lot of that same glib despair that made me take my break the first time. They are all now living upper-middle class lives opining about feudalism and it's not really very funny anymore. I do enjoy when they just do cultural criticism (like the Dinesh ep), but their political analyses are getting really grating to this 50year old lefty.
