I'm relistening to this 2 years later, and I'm in sheer awe of the way Dennis Miller parlays his skin biopsy into not knowing how to pronounce "basal cell" into some kind of cowboy pun about Basil Rathbone

The Miller/O'rilley audience sharing makes more sense to me. Miller's references have nothing to do with being arcane or smug, but rather conveying some sort of "back in my day, kids worked hard at their jobs and were horny for conventionally attractive women" bit that most conservatives like.
