You know, I should just accept reality and start calling these "Thrilling Thursdays". :D

I'm still super busy with that new Spooky short story which is taking top priority, but hopefully I'll have some news about that for y'all soon!

Anyway! For this week's Digital Kickstarter Reward, I have a new Origin Card to share with you. Last time you got to see Tsunami’s Origin Card, and now this time this time I get to share Commander’s first use of her powers!

Looks like she's stopping a bully with a little psychic power!

Painted by Dutch artist Rudy Faber, I think his style does a great job capturing the kid-like vibe I’m looking for with these Origin Cards. To my eyes, it almost has the feeling of an illustration from a children's book. (He’s also created the art for Flyboy’s Origin Card, and let me tell you, it’s adorable. I can’t wait to share it with you!)

Here’s the link to the wallpaper:

(Of course, please do not share this link with anyone because these wallpapers are special rewards just for awesome Patrons like you. But also because I am using a professional service to make your downloads smooth, and I get charged for every download.)

I hope you like this take on Young Amanda. Please let me know what you think in the comments! :)

REALLY cute, I love the 'children book feeling'. My favorite so far is still Kyle's Power card but this one is definitely on the podium :) Thanks !

This is completely charming.

Thanks for this. I love Rudy's style for these young cards. The children's book is all right there in that card. So charming! Oh, and btw, Alex... you had me at " I'm still super busy with that new Spooky short story." LOL. Good luck and god-speed!!! Go Spooky. Heeeeee. Thanks!

I love how she's wearing the the USAF sweater, because you know exactly where she picked up the idea that not only should she stand up to a bully, but that she's strong enough to do so.

I love this - it looks colourful and interesting and shows how The Commander was standing up for good even at that young age.

Yep, Rudy's style is definitely special. :) And I'm glad you like the idea of a new Spooky short story. Hopefully I'll be able to talk more about it soon!

She's adorable! Sorry, I know that's not what she would want to be called but, it's true.

These are awesome. However I have a small question. Isn't the Kickstarter supporters not supposed to be getting these emailed to them as well? Your updates with that seem to have dried up. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to be helping out, just wondering what's happening with Kickstarter too,

alexwoolfson

Howdy Ross! You're absolutely right. And, in fact, this wallpaper was emailed out to Kickstarter backers months ago. I actually have been posting monthly updates about the status of all the rewards in the Updates section of the Kickstarter page, which you should have been receiving as emails. (I also have been sending out a ton of your digital rewards that way too.) But your email makes me very concerned you haven't been getting those updates. If you haven't received those emails, please double-check the email address you are using for Kickstarter. This is very important! When the books are ready to ship, the only way I'll be able to get your current shipping address is by sending you a Kickstarter survey and that's sent to your Kickstarter email! In the meantime, you can find all the updates (which include all your digital rewards that have been sent out so far) here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alexwoolfson/the-young-protectors-vol-1-0/posts Hopefully, this answers your question. Please let me know if you have any more. And thank you very much for your backing! :) Alex

Thanks for replying :) I have indeed been getting the emails and I just had a quick glance through them again to find this one. I was just not recognising some of the ones posted here (I have a very bad memory) which made me wonder a little. You update this page so much that I also forgot Kickstarter updates are monthly. I've been having one of "those" weeks I think lol. Thanks for clearing that up for me and looking forward to the next updates :)

alexwoolfson

No worries, Ross. Glad to clear that up. :) And one thing I'm actually happy about is giving these Kickstarter Digital Rewards a second life for Kickstarter backers. We put a lot of effort into each one of them, and with so many digital rewards I think it can be easy to overlook them if you're a Kickstarter backer when you first receive them. Something that has been very gratifying from me is hearing back from Kickstarter backers, who are getting a chance to enjoy these rewards a second time. Glad you're looking forward to future updates. And thank you very much for both your Kickstarter and your Patreon support! :)
