sooo... funfact i guess. pieck was actually a relative last minute addition to the series. the character i mean, not her narrative role. when you go back and read the manga, the cart titan accompanying zeke during the battle for the basement is actually a different character, a middle aged man going by oliver pieck. by the time the anime released they fixed it and had the pieck we got later on accompany him. a pretty minor change overall, but still interesting to think about if that fact might have changed anything. (to clarify as i realized my comment may be taken wrongly, "oliver pieck" is a concept that never made it into the manga past his original appearance alongside the beast titan. by the time the time skip happened and we saw pieck in her human form for the first time, she was already changed to be her current version. ) also, about ymir, it's pretty clear that isayama still hadn't finalized the design of the nine titans by the time ymir was introduced. or maybe he just wanted to keep it a secret? regardless, ymir's titan just looks way too different from the later interpretations of the jaw titan. most noticeably, she never had those very pronounced.... well jaws of the jaw titan seen in the other shifters. and yeah, the power of good ol' brainwashing. it's incredible what you are willing to do and how easy it becomes to hurt others, if you can truly delude yourself into seeing your opponents as inhuman. makes it so much easier if you have a scapegoat you can blame it all on and even better if you never actually question anything you're being told.

Sad to think, she had plenty of time to go but they fed her to someone. Very sad. Yeah definitely noticed the Jaw Line is VERY different, i was just calling her "Gremlin Titan" all this time> Definitely - brainwashing is very common, social conditioning is even more so
