First Update Post of 2019! (Happy New Year!) (Patreon)

2019 is here, and it's time to make music and chew bubble gum... and I'm all out of gum. Let's take a look at some of what's to come for GaMetal in 2019!

The next Patreon Request List Drawing Stream will be this Saturday, January 5th, at around 2:00 PM US Central Time. In addition to pulling our next drawing winner, we'll also be taking a first look at the GaMetal 2019 Song Ballot results. I've been spending most of the day reviewing the results and listening to a ton of different songs. We ended up with 1400 entries, so I won't exactly be able to listen to every song in a single day.. or a few days... or even a week or a month, haha, but I'll be referencing this list a lot when it comes to personal song choice decisions. In the stream, I'll be revealing the Top 10 Most Requested Songs, the Top 15 Most Requested Series, Top 10 Most Requested New Series (from games/series we haven't done a song from before), and the Top 10 Most Requested Non-Nintendo (Mostly) Series. I'll post those results in the stream recap post-stream as well, for those who can't make it.

I will be going gung-ho on Atmacoustics this year, the backlog is insane (completely my fault) and it needs to be done. Expect to see a TON more Atmacoustics than you have been the past few years. It's my New Years Resolution. :)

Onto GaMetal songs! Did you catch the end card teaser from the Darkest Lord video? If you didn't, the 2019 Premiere song was revealed (sort of). For those that didn't catch it, or understand the reference, I've decided to go with yet another Top 3 Request from the 2019 Song Ballot (this one officially ended up in the #3 spot)... 

The main theme from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Lifelight!

You all know I love Smash, and I didn't want to do this song before the game even came out, but with the world enveloped in Smash hype at the moment, and now that we're post-release, I'd love to give this song a shot. I'm also going to offer this song in two different versions: an Instrumental version and a Vocal version (featuring.. me, haha). Also a quick note: despite the fact this song will have two different versions, I will only be charging you all here on Patreon one time rather than twice, since I'm saving a lot of effort by simply swapping out the vocal track for lead stuff. :)

I'll also be counting this as my handpicked choice for the month from the request list of The Taijutsu Specialist, so there's another Patron request fulfilled!

After Lifelight, it's back to the current to-do list for a brief moment, and then we're moving on to Side-Quests Volume 2, which I'm still hopeful to have complete in February. I'm hoping to get at least 2-3 songs from the to-do list finished before getting to SQ2, but as usual, I'll fill you all in on details as time goes by and I can get a better idea of the time frame. The current to-do list is now:

Outside of all that, I do have two other things to note: First, I didn't manage to get to an April Fools Special in 2018, so I plan on doubling down this year and having two April Fools Specials this year. I already have one set in stone, and will be thinking about the other one throughout the next couple months. The second thing is that I'd really like to get the next big secret project after Side-Quests 2, Project One, completed late this year. I'll fill you in on details for both of these things when the time comes. :)

That's all I have to talk about for now, I'm really looking forward to all that's to come this year. I have a really great feeling that 2019 is going to be, by far, the best year yet. And all of this of course wouldn't be possible without you all, so thank you for helping GaMetal to reach this point, let's keep it going for another amazing, kickass year!
