Hello everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I have part 1 of my next map: The Dwarven Mining Company HQ

This map proved to be quite the challenge when thinking of what an above-ground Dwarven mansion turned into a Mining Company HQ would even look like. It's not a very common concept, after all, but I was excited about the challenge. As you can see from the amount of detail added here, this will be a two-parter for sure, with the next release focusing on the 2nd floor, roof level, and underground vault.

This map will be perfect for a quest hub in your games related to mining operations or even a heist to steal gold and gems from the vault or recover artifacts to return them back to their rightful homes.

When tackling this map, I wanted the Dwarven essence to be felt and seen throughout each room. I took great care to create and decorate each location through the eyes of our hearty friends, and even though they are small in stature, they are big in their designs.

Because this is such a large location, I created my own room guide, which I've included within each .zip file attached to this post. This is just a jumping-off point for how to use each room, but of course, feel free to use them how you see fit for your own games!

Additionally, I created 7 different color moods for this map, along with options without lights and with fog or rain, so you have plenty of variants to choose from.

For my Champion Tier patrons, you will receive the following with this map:

  • Floor 1 of the Mining Company HQ (Additional floors to follow)
  • Grid & NoGrid
  • 4k & 8k resolution
  • 7 Color Moods: Dark Academy, Ghostly, Gloom, Night, Overcast, Sunny Day, & Warm
  • Light, Rain & fog options
  • VTT Sizing Guide
  • Room Description guide and write up PDF

Next up, I'll be working on finishing the other levels of this map. I plan on creating a 2nd floor, a roof level, and a small underground level that contains the vault where they store all their precious coin, gems, and treasure. An envy of any dragon, to be sure!

Next up, I'll be working on a large graveyard map in celebration of the upcoming Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos), which has cultural significance in our own household. I think this would be a fun Halloween map for your players to enjoy visiting the spirits of loved ones! The Fiend of Hollow Mine adventure from the Radiant Citadel book has some great story for running a Dia de Muertos-themed adventure, and I highly recommend it!

After this, I plan to start paving my way back into the Village of Barovia for some V2.0 maps, starting with the village "outskirts" map featuring some small homes nestled in farmland off the main Svalich Road. A great intro map to run small combat encounters (Wolves, zombies, bats, etc.) or even introduce Granny to the players!

Hope you all have a great, spooky October with plenty of RPG sessions to be had. As always, thanks for your continued support, and I'll catch up with you on Thursday for a sneak peek of my next map.

Cheers,

DM Andy
