Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I bring you a long-time community-requested map for a wonderfully spooky adventure written by my amazing partner Pyram King: The Count's Manor

This dungeon was created as an alternative to the dungeon for Death House but offers a far more interactive and interesting encounter below and allows your players the chance to experience their first vampire to set the pace for their Gothic Horror journey.

This dungeon is great to drop in just about anywhere within your gothic horror campaigns!

You can find a free version of the adventure PDF over on Pyram's Ko-fi page here.

There are two core maps with this release:

  • Level 1 Gridded at 40x42
  • Level 2 Gridded at 25x30

Both levels have versions without lights baked in, and level 1 also includes a version without fog as well.

Additionally, this is the first map using a new statue asset I commissioned from @mongoosejackart on IG, which you can see in the ritual room! I'm always so excited to feature new art in my maps, and he's a very talented artist.

I created this map in six different color moods to help you set the perfect vibe for your game:

  • Banshee: A blueish tone to this map creates a haunted and cold feeling.
  • Dark Academy: Focusing on deep, dark shadows to create a dramatic contrast with the lights.
  • Ghostly: An eerie greenish color creates a supernatural and ghostly feel to this mood.
  • Gloom: My standard for dark fantasy; a muted, dark, and overall creepy tone.
  • Verdant: A lighter, more natural green tone creates more of an ancient, rotted, and old dungeon feel.
  • Warm: This creates an old and dusty feel, focusing on natural browns.

For my Champion Tier patrons, you get the following with this map release:

  • Grid / No Grid
  • 4k & 8k Resolutions
  • 2 Maps, one for each floor
  • 6 Color Moods
  • Fog & Light Options
  • Jpg & Webp file format
  • VTT Sizing Guide

You'll be able to find this release over on my Collections page going forward (In the Curse of Strahd, Graveyard & Catacomb, and Dungeon categories). If you have not yet checked out the Collections page, be sure to do so, as it'll help navigate all my posts over the years.

Additionally, I've started the early (very early) stages of thinking about my approach to the re-work of the Village of Barovia, a map I did over two years ago! Make sure you get your vote cast on my poll, as that'll help me cater the map to the community's needs. While I don't have an ETA for the VoB project yet, know it'll be earlier than later as this is such an iconic location in the module.

Next up, I'll be switching gears back over to the Saltmarsh lane again and working on the next in the list of Saltmarsh locations: The Dwarven Mining HQ. This location is housed in a mansion, so there will be no small map! If you're familiar with my manor maps, you know I add a huge amount of little details in each room. It's a huge release and may be spread over two parts, but I'll have a two-story Mansion along with an underground vault.

Later in Oct, I'll be working on an homage to Día de Muertos and using one of the iconic cemeteries of Oaxaca, Mexico, for my inspiration. I ran a Día de Muertos-inspired one-shot for my players last year, and they just loved the adventure and building their own ofrenda's for their characters lost loved ones in-game!

Of course, I'll be continuing with my CoS projects as well, mapping our re-works and tackling third-party content creators' locations as well. There is a lot in store for the future!

As always, thanks SO much for your continued support. This community means the world to me, and I consider myself so lucky every day I get to work on maps for you all.

Cheers,

DM Andy

Hello DM Andy. I want to thank you very much for fulfilling my request for this incredible Pyram King adventure, which pays homage to the great Lugosi. As for the work, I must say it was nothing short of fantastic. Undoubtedly one of your best maps. Amazing details and a terribly wonderful atmosphere. I am extremely grateful. Proud to be your patron and encourage your great talent in building and bringing scenes to life in our RPGs!
