Apparently Hamill was in the country filming for one of the recent Star Wars films (I'd guess The Last Jedi) and Greg Davies decided to take a punt on getting him on board for a cameo, probably more in hope than expectation. But it turns out he's a fan of British comedy and Rik Mayall stuff in particular, so when he saw one of the Series 1 episodes he leapt at the chance, and dedicated his appearance to Mayall's memory on the night the episode aired: https://twitter.com/MarkHamill/status/766390694063722496
