Happy New Year 🎉 Josh I think the other things Victor did were in that one episode where he was a one man crime wave and accidentally committed an armed robbery in the market, thinking he was taking back his own stolen coat etc lol.

Did the audience cheer louder when the guy in the pub called Victor, "Steve"?

Anonymous

Funny how it lines up like that, but on a second watch, you can tell it was diegetic crowd noise from within the 'pub'.

Ryan Lynch

I did wonder if it was meant to be generic pub noise and it was coincidental. Just sounded too loud to be background noise. Then I wondered if Richard Wilson played a Steve in another programme before OFITG.

I think alot of these situations Victor finds himself in are actually down to Magaret, Victor tends to want to be more honest with people when things go wrong and gets persuaded by her to do the opposite. Having to hide in a garden and getting ill from being in the rain was down to her not wanting him to admit he wasn't the person they thought he was, something he was going to do. Another example was the bottle of wine which caused the feud between him and Patrick, it was Magarets idea to fill it with cheap beer rather than just be honest and explain to them that they had mistaken it for a present from a relative.

CatsandCrafts

I agree completely. There are plenty more of those over the coming series, and I agree that a great deal of these are down to Margaret. Like the tortoise, for example, and the cat. She lies to not cause a scene but keeping up said white lie causes an even bigger one aimed towards Victor.

Great reaction, as always. Thank you Josh. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s FND too!xx

CatsandCrafts

I’m so so pleased you are enjoying it so much!! I hoped it would win the poll so much as I knew you’d love it! Thank goodness it did! If you’re wondering who keeps rewatching your FND reactions…it’s me! Lol.xx

Was the old woman friend with the red hair a younger version of the gran in Friday Night Dinner?

Colin Bayley

Josh. The episode 4.3 'Hearts of Darkness' is cut on BBC iplayer. There's a picture cropt version on YouTube but the picture quality is no great shakes. I would avoid YouTube for this show as its a spoiler nightmare. They always liked to go dark from time to time and this was probably considered too dark these days. Cheers.
