Red dwarf is fantastic but this is by far the worst season of it. Still ok but it gets a lot better again after this. Plus not being from England you wouldn't get the Coronation street references.

The Priory is a clinic that deals with mental health. Also known for treating drug addiction (like rehab). It's not uncommon to read tabloid headlines like "Celebrity singer checks in to the Priory".

Every time you looked confused or asked why Cat was making the squids - the answer is always "it's a Blade Runner reference", i'd tell you the meaning of the squid models but it's a bit of a hidden spoiler just in case you do ever see the film. A year or so after these specials the Channel "Dave" commissioned more series of Red Dwarf, back to the way it was before but with more updated sets and effects, much better than the Back to Earth Special in my opinion, so you have something to look forward to.

As Graham says it picks up and gets back to the more traditional format for series 10, many great series ahead. @Josh you said i wonder if he meets her again in the last series, well the series are still running, season 14 which will consist of specials are due to be produced when the pandemic subsides

Ok lol thanks bud. I haven't seen Blade Runner, I believe it is on my list though so I am sure I will eventually. That is awesome bud I am looking forward to see how they started the show back up.

When this came out it wasn't considered a season, as the DVD played it out all together as if it was a short film. Now I did like bhow the broke the 4th wall, and how the DVD case in part 2 was exactly the same as the real dvd that was released (including the text on the back that lister reads out) but I feel this story arc as a whole could have just not been made as it didn't bring anything to the show

"didn't bring anything to the show"? It erased everything that happened after series 5. Series 6 had some good episodes, but not enough to justify 7 and 8. It's a net win.

For anyone that sees this before Blade Runner its going to be an interesting perception as they watch the movie. I was actually impressed with this as they attempted to answer some of the lingering questions in Blade Runner. Also the attention to detail from the movie was really cool.

fun fact Rimmer did have a sitcom. The Brittas Empire ran for 7 seasons. was him running a leisure centre (sports centre)
