Back to earth doesnt get the respect it deserves.... its a blade runner parody and its not peak dwark but as a segway into the return its quality.... plus the russian bird is fit (claudia winklemans sister) lol

You should know for the next one that coronation street is a british soap opera and also Craig Charles plays a character in it.

ahh its Claudia’s sister. I have to admit never watched this one before despite watching the rest countless countless times, its ok the comedy isn’t as fast and probably not something i will re watch but its ok. Looking forward to series 10 :)

The reference at the end was probably lost on you, it was the set of the soap opera Coronation Street of which Craig Charles (Lister) was a cast member. Might be an idea to catch up on Coronation Street before next weeks episode, shouldn't take too long! (That's a joke by the way Josh, it's literally been on for 60 years lol )

There's a lot of Blade Runner references in this special, the photo analysis scene, the prosthetic nose guy, Cat leaving Origami sculptures all over the place. Also worth pointing out, they keep talking about it but there is no Series 9, this special is basically it. By suggesting there's a missing series helps fill the gaps between the ending of series 8 and now. It's not a spoiler to say this but i'm pretty sure this Rimmer is the Original Rimmer, the one that tried being Ace for awhile - they just wanted everything back to the way it was before Kachanski joined.

There are a lot of blade runner references in this oh god lol. They were completely lost on me back when I watched it 10 years ago, but now it's so obvious. - Cat with the Origami sculptures much like Gaff from BR. - The whole scene with the guy who makes noses mimic's a scene where there's a guy who makes eyes. - And the whole zoom and enhance thing with the photo is taking the mick out of how ridiculous a similar technology was in BR but went way further with the ridiculousness lol Thanks for the reaction man. I didn't remember this series being remotely as clever or interesting, most likely as everything went over my head

As others have said, Sophie Winkleman who plays Katerina (and Big Suze) is the sister of Claudia Winkleman who you’ve probably seen in Would I Lie to You. She’s also a member of the British Royal Family by marriage, as she’s married to the son of the Queen’s cousin

You had a Sega Saturn, Josh? Nice! While I didn't own one at the time it came out, I picked one up second hand in the mid 2000s after the Dreamcast was discontinued. Still got it today, now modded with a MODE and with all the games digitally on it :)

Did you notice that the furniture they were sat on during the department store scene (Rimmer and Listers bathroom/hand dryer conversation) was set up in the same way as their sleeping quarters from the earlier seasons?

It makes me absolutely cringe when any program decides to go all meta like this. It's so damned hack! We've basically watching the show climb into its own arsehole and snuggle down. Edit: The ginger kids at 18:30 are the worst piece of television I've ever seen.
