Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This is the second time Del's has taken a butt whopping for Rodney lol. At least it was worth the butt whopping this time around. The last butt whipping he took for Rodney was pointless because he broke up with the girl lol. Well, at least Rodney appreciates everything Del does for him, without knowing about the butt kickings. Rodney coming back to the old place cracked me up. Poor dude had to ride his bike all the way to his old place and has to hop back on to ride all the way to his new one. I have mentioned this before Boycie is pretty mellow when it comes to Marlene Del kissed her pretty long in this episode. He has kissed her and put his hand on her butt a few times in the past and Boycie just shrugs it off.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

As always I would love to read your comments below

JOLLY BOYS OUTING next week!! Can’t wait!

Josip Buretic

That was perfect timing, I just came home from work!! Excellent I wish you a great weekend my friend!!

Keith Pratt

This would've been the perfect way to end the series, but I'm glad there was more.

Funny 6k deposit is nothing today, it's as good as having nothing. Three months wages on a starter salary.

He put an adaptor on the back of it.... what a UK plug? lol.

Kieran B

Cassandra’s mum is Benedict Cumberbatch’s mum in real life

Keith Pratt

"Horse shit sandwich". "shit" was edited out.

Keith Pratt

The comedian was the same actor that played Parker the policeman, who searched Denzil's lorry in "To Hull and Back".

Another one with the swears edited out? Stahp it D:

Jellied eels!! Urgh!

James Waters

Next week is one of the best

Anonymous

Jolly Boys next week, just remember that a bic is a type of pen 🤣

Jellied eels are just eels cut up cooked then served in aspic jelly lol it's a London thing

Next weeks episode, The Jolly boys outing was voted the best episode by the British public and its David Jason’s (Delboy) favourite episode too.

NEXUS

This is another important episode in the trotters life and brings in a new dynamic to the series now rodders is married, this is another episode where Delboy shows how important family is to him, taking a proper kicking from the driscolls heavy boys. Josh please find another source for your episodes, they cut the "horseshit sandwich" out in this episode, that's not even cut on daytime TV in the uk. Next weeks episode is pretty much everybody's fav special and there's a chance it has a few minutes missing on some streaming services. Netflix in the UK has the uncut version I think at 1H 24 minutes long, episode is 85 minutes fully uncut, so probably does in the USA also.

I'll be honest, I think this is just before the point where the show started to drop off for me. I know some think differently. Anyway, this is a fantastic episode and full of pathos - I get a touch emotional at the reveal that Del took the beating so he could still pay Rodney. And the end when Del realises that Rodney isn't really going anywhere is great.

Gary Tamblyn

A VCR made, for the continent, would work perfectly well in the UK. But they say never let facts get in the way of a good story. 😃

Gary Tamblyn

This is a good episode, mostly because it focused on the relationship between Del and Rodney. The next 2 Christmas specials were good, I think. And Series 7 (the last full series) was not bad, but it does taper off around Miami Twice onwards, when I think the show just kept coming back at Christmas by public demand. And possibly John Sullivan had a mortgage to pay off, so couldn’t say no. 😃

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Love this episode. I think of this every time I hear that Holding Back the Years song. At the pub when you didn't catch what Rodney said after he could have been a drunk, he said or a 'snue gliffer' Glue Sniffer lol he just got the first letters the wrong way round because he was pissed. Jellied eels sound revolting, I think it's mostly a Cockney thing tbh. OFAH is one of the few places I've ever heard of it. Looking forward to next week :)

Patrick Murray (Micky Pearce) had actually broken his wrist in real life just prior to filming and was apparently very worried that due to this (and the complete arm cast as seen in this episode) he may have been written out of what was at the time due to be the final episode however writer John Sullivan added a neck brace to Jevon and wrote their beating at the hands of the Driscoll brothers into the story as a way around this.

Anonymous

Great episode I really like how you analyse and break down the review and try to read what may happen in the future great stuff. That snue gliffer line from Rodney when drunk had me in stitches lol.

Anonymous

Not sure if you recognised him but Tony Driscoll is played by Christopher Ryan who played Dave Hedgehog in Bottom.

Teddy Alison

Best ever episode next week Josh! Also please make sure you find a uncut version next week Josh. So many unnecessary cuts to the best episode on some platforms

Seems there are quite a few minor edits in this season, mainly for mild language. Strange though as they left it in the earlier episodes even along with the un pc racial slurs 🤷🏻‍♂️?? Jellied eels is very much a traditional London/Cockney dish (along with pie and mash). Cliff Richard is a seemingly ever lasting British pop star (only known in the States for Devil Woman but over here known as the Peter Pan of pop and now in his 63rd year of chart success and not long brought out his 54th album!) very popular, mainly with elderly folk these days, but very clean cut and inoffensive....if you don’t like him you DO want to slap him 😂. Next week is the Christmas special The Jolly Boys Outing, considered the most popular episode of the shows history. Just hope it’s not too edited 😐. Enjoy!

You’re definitely going to like next weeks episode 👍🏼

Jellied eels: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jellied_eels My grandfather used to catch eels from the local river and make his own jellied eels. The kitchen looked like a crime scene after he had chopped and gutted them!

Daryl

Such a wonderful end to this series. Glad to see those eyes just a tad glassy. It's such a great balance of drama, humour, happiness but little sad too. Like everyone, I'm really looking forward to next week as well.

Joe S

Next weeks episode, the jolly boys outing, is maybe the one that is repeated on tv the most! For good reason, it’s brilliant

Jellied eels are a Cockney delicacy from back in the day when eels were cheap and plentiful in the Thames. My dad loves them but he put me off them for life! As an aside, I'd recommend a book call Gospel of the Eels by Svensson. I never realised how mysterious the eel's lifecycle is and how much damage humans were doing to their number. Used to love eating eel in Japanese restaurants but I'll never have one again :)

Steve Small

Hey Josh, grest reaction (as always) I feel like I'm watching my fave comedies with you so when you laugh, I laugh harder than I would if I was watching alone. I have a few pointers for you... 1. Snue Gliffer - he was supposed to say "glue sniffer", but he is drunk. 2. Gregory = neck. Cockney rhyming slang (Gregory Peck (actor)) 3. Named after Charlton athletic - a football team. 4. Jellied eels are a British (mainly London) thing. They are cooked chunks of eel set in clear, unsweetened jelly. 5. Pie and mash shops are restaurants that serve pie, mash and gravy (usually found in London). 6. Plates of meat = feet (cockney rhyming slang). 7. "you look cream crackered = knackered = tired/worn out.

Try and find the uncut version for next week - there are legit platforms that stream it. It's mostly due to music rights, but some nice jokes are lost because of it.

Keith Pratt

Just a mistake on the swearing edits, I think. I've checked The Jolly Boys' Outing, plus series 7 and beyond and everything seems to be intact. I think someone messed up and britbox ended up with versions for series 6 that were used for day time transmissions.

Keith Pratt

No worries, it's uncut on britbox which is where he's watching them. I don't think there are any problems with any future episodes, it was just mainly series 6 that had a few annoying edits.

Keith Pratt

Josh is watching on britbox and it's uncut on there, I've checked. I think the rest of the episodes are intact as well.

I think this episode showed one of writer John Sullivan's talents. Many episodes ago in Video Nasty, which wasn't a great episode, they introduced the Driscoll brothers as a couple of London gangsters by mentioning them. Also got a few mentions in other episodes, then introduced them properly in this one. Quite a lot of emotion in this episode too.

Mr K

This felt very much like a possible end to the series at the time.

Sam Dilks

interesting factoids: Patrick Murray, Mickey Pearce, had badly injured his arm in real life so it was written to the script that he and Jevon were beaten up by the Driscoll brothers. Also Anthony Hopkins was a big fan of the show and was originally cast to play Danny Driscoll but had to pull out when production started on The Silence of the Lambs

Anonymous

This episode is a good one. I cannot wait for next weeks episode though, like many on here “The Jolly Boys Outing” is my favourite of all time! I genuinely own this episode on a few different formats and its one of those episodes that you put on on a rainy day or when your needing cheered up etc, has everything and i can’t wait for you to see it!

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks bud I appreciate that! I enjoy watching these shows with you all =] Thanks for the pointers bud much appreciated, Take care and have a great week!

Bring on next week!!!

Look forward to the special episode next

I only learnt this recently but Cassandra's mum, Pamela, is actually Benedict Cumberbatch's mum.

Anonymous

Oh yes i agree, jolly boys outing my fav episode as well, josh is going to love it 🙂

Anonymous

you got a lot of old school british culture in this episode. The jellied eels are basically chunks of eel mixed up in gelatine, i tried it, hated it. But its common around uk seaside resorts and the older generation, also pie and mash as well

Mr Snrub

Its post war food, all the boomers were into them. They're horrible lol

Anonymous

Jellied eels and pie and mash pre-date the 2nd World War by at least 100 years.
