Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This was a fun episode, I thought they might hire a hooker after Uncle mentioned the girl he was in love with was a one. When Del approached the girl and she mentioned being a stripper I figured he would get her to go out with Rodney. I didn't expect her to get drunk and strip I thought she might get drunk and reveal she was paid to be with him lol. Here stripping and embarrassing Rodney great. In the end, Del was screwed the most after losing 50 bones plus whatever he paid his buddy. I like how the last episode and this one ended in them poking fun of uncle Albert lol.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

We’re getting so close to the first feature special in 2 weeks, “To Hull and back”, which is one of my favourite episodes.

Steve Small

Nice one Josh! Happy New Year! I have a translation for you: Enemy Cockney rhyming slang - Enemy and strife = wife. A couple more... Sort (that sort from the fishmongers) - girl. (a "right sort" would be a good looking girl) A right Brahma - a stunning girl "Right" can often be added in slang English phrases and it means "very" or "really". For example, "I had a right good look for it but couldn't find it", just means, I had a really good look... Getting your collar felt = getting arrested Lairy = cheeky/mouthy - He's a lairy little sod = He's a cheeky b*astard Bertie Bassett - The character that fronts Liquorice Allsorts (a brand of liquorice sweet that has lots of black and white ones) Saucy (as in, you saucy little git) = cheeky, in an impertinent way. "Do I look like St. George? - Refers to St. George, the dragon slayer. The woman looks like a dragon. Giving you the hump = annoys you

By the way (because I think it's referenced by Albert quite a bit during the series) 'the Legion' is short for "British Legion" which used to be social clubs/pubs mainly frequented by ex-servicemen/vets and their families. They don't really exist today but The Royal British Legion still exists as a charitable organisation that looks after people who used to serve in the military.

Steve King

I would say "lairy" is more accurately described as loud and disruptive

Fun episode. Love the Helga/nine fingers part as well. You're nearing the first special already :) looking forward to it.

Great video ! I’m really looking forward to seeing your “To Hull and back” reaction. The next episode is a good one too.

How are you finding uncle Albert compared to grandad?

Manly Stump

That's the Gettysburg address, not the pledge of allegiance, and it's "four score and SEVEN years ago"

A good thing to remember when watching this and other older shows is how inflation has changed the values, the £50 in this episode would be approximately £130 today.

There was a cut to this episode when Dels talking to Yvonne in the club and she starts singing. https://youtu.be/8aFN61YQgpo

He paid £20 which is a score. £5 is a Lady = Lady Godiva = Fiver. £10 is an Ayrton = Ayrton Senna = Tenner. A score is £20, A pony is £25 as mentioned in the OFAH theme tune "stick a pony in your pocket". A monkey is £500, and £1000 is a bag of sand = grand.

Another cut in addition to the one mentioned above that was only ever shown on tv during its first few airings and to my knowledge has never been included on any VHS/DVD/digital releases- at the point where Del says “ringing some of your old birds doesn't half make you feel your age” it originally cut to Albert who asks “some of ‘em are married are they?” To which Del replies “couple of ‘em are dead!” (After the “calling your old birds..” line you can still hear the end of the audiences laughter that they didnt quite manage to edit out) . While never officially confirmed it has been suspected that this line was removed out of respect to David Jason whos long term partner sadly passed away around 10 years after this episodes debut.

The singing and those lines you mention are in the digital copy I bought from Amazon.

You know it's a good show when even the filler episodes are worth watching!

Luke Barron

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but the final episode of season 4 is a movie length episode- Its called "To Hull and back". I don't think the long movie-length episodes show in the normal episode lists so you can easily miss them if you didnt know about them. Most of the seasons from 4 onwards have one or more movie length episodes which are all listed on imdb in the correct order you are supposed to watch them in. Thought it worth mentioning so you dont miss them as the movies are some of the best "episodes".

The plot of To Hull and Back would hold its own in Hollywood. Please don't skip Josh :)
