Really good start to the new season! It's cool that Michael is in this season he is a good character. I didn't expect to see him when I was told it will be a new setting some years later. The back of the net phrase is hilarious, especially when he lifts his leg lmao. Lynn attempting to draw a penis on old boys' back was priceless.

No spoilers but it’s only a couple of years in the future. About the same amount of time between the two series/seasons in reality He didn’t get away with signing the contract although it’s never explicitly covered here, it is covered beautifully in the autobiography I, Partridge which gives his retelling of stuff you’ve seen so far (and goes from his childhood) and the rest of his career - including Knowing Me Knowing You. But wait till you’ve seen the 2 Mid Morning Matters series and then the Alpha Papa movie that follows on from that first as you’ll get a lot more out of it. Steve Coogan reading the audiobook in character is absolute gold

I think the scene that made me laugh hardest rewatching this was the one where the credits roll on his terrible car-crash compilation video, and he's holding that profoundly weird, gormless expression on his toblerone-addled fat-face as the Sexy Lady stands nearby. The length of time that it goes on, and the way he stolidly holds that stupid expression out of his weird, warped idea of what professionalism entails...I was in tears. Coogan can do so much with the most micro of micro-expressions.

Hopefully you'll get into that after this, then- this time with alan partridge then the Alan movie - alpha papa, which is fantastic! You'll love it!
