Spoiler Free:  I did like a few of you suggested and didn't watch OFITG. You all were right that I really didn't need to know that much about it before the next episode, other than the main character Victor Meldrew is a grump with a catchphrase. That was enough to get the jokes without spoiling a show that I might potentially watch here.

Honestly, I don't have a ton to say about this episode except it had a decent amount of funny moments. My favorites were the guy taking father jacks liquor and the scene cutting to an ambulance, the crows stealing father jacks glasses, and Father Noel being annoying by describing the death and cannibalism of Tony while laughing lol.

One Foot In The Grave is one of my all time favourites. You’d love it! British comedy at its finest.

The ironic thing about Victor Meldrew's "I don't believe it!" catchphrase is that it wasn't really a typical sitcom catchphrase and over six series and over 40 episodes he only said it a few times. It's such a dark, witty, really quite intelligent show One Foot in the Grave and it's so much more than Victor's occasional use of that line. I can't wait for you to see it for yourself. That said, this was an amusing episode and if anything was a bit of a joke and a way of Richard Wilson (who plays Victor in OFITG) to send himself up a bit because he's nothing like Victor in real life but genuinely doesn't like parroting that line over and over again when asked, a rare example of grumpiness from him perhaps but possibly also because the writing for One Foot in the Grave is so rich and brilliant that it must be annoying to have it boiled down to what is essentially a non-catchphrase. I'm definitely on board with OFITG being added to the next poll! :-D

Totally agree with One Foot being a brilliantly written sitcom, with deep intertwining plotlines. However, a quick Google shows that he says that catchphrase at least 36 times by my count! But still, it is way more than that.

The storyline with Mrs Doyle and Mrs Diney is hilarious to me because a minority of older Irish women are like that in Ireland youll definitely come across woman like that, in the show they just take the piss in a really funny slapstick way
