Spoiler Free: Excellent action-packed, Comedy I loved it !!! This felt like a  buddy cop film, mixed with a murder mystery and comedy.

Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!

As soon as they introduce Skinner I thought this guy is too weird and suspicious to be the villain its too obvious. I thought they are clearly trying to throw people off the real murderer.   Well, I was clearly wrong because I stop expecting Skinner and started looking for who else it could be.  I am terrible with murder mysteries I don't know mystery I try to guess lol. I never expected it to be the entire neighborhood watch crew. Then the Chief showed up I was like yo I would have never got this lol.  When Angel Jumped kicked that old lady in the face I cracked up. I loved the shoot out at the end. I can honestly say I have never laughed at old people being shot until watching this movie lmao. The priest screaming Jesus christ after being shot was priceless. When they shot Danny and the police station exploded I was about to say dude does he die in all the Cornetto films. I was happy to see the dude alive, thought it would be bogus if it ended like that. This was an all-around great film and I look forward to The Worlds End.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

As always I would love to read your comments below

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Bloody hell Josh you always upload at the perfect moment! Just sat down with a glass of wine to unwind and this pops up 😀 You're the best! Watching now 💙

Toby Lewis

The intense transitions you mentioned at the start are trademark Edgar Wright. If you haven’t seen Baby Driver I recommend it. A directing masterpiece by Edgar Wright. Everything happening on time to the music, crazy transitions, hands in and out of shot (like the phone at the start of Shaun of the dead, and the cake at the start of this).

I live in the Lake District at the top of England, and a lot of people talk with that mumbling accent like the farmer including most my family so I can understand it, always hilarious watching people who haven’t experienced it try understand it tho 😂

This is the link Josh https://youtu.be/QsDnApqgREw

Just watched your Shaun last night and thought it would be ages before you did Hot Fuzz. Nice surprise. Thanks Josh! Will you ever watch Red Dwarf from the start? I think you'd enjoy it!

Anonymous

What a little treat that is I was just looking for something to watch n have a smoke before bed. Perfec 👌

Anonymous

D'you want anything from the shop?

Anonymous

Point Break (1991) is an excellent movie. I highly recommend it.

Michael

Josh you got no idea how much i've anticipated you reacting to this movie, can't wait to watch, if i had an extra 20 dollars i'd throw it at you right now. well not throw it but ukno

Michael

Edgar Wright also directed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, if you've ever seen that before

Michael

The santa claus who stabbed his hand at the start of the movie is actually Peter Jackson, director of lord of the rings lmao

Anonymous

I’m so glad you like the movie, I was very excited as it was my favourite movie growing up and watchable many times. Saw you recognised David Bradley who plays filch in Harry potted and Walder Frey in GoT, was waiting to see if you recognised that Michael the trolley boy is Rory McCann that plays the hound! I didn’t realise until my 3rd watch of the movie.

Happiest Aku

Jim Broadbent who played Chief Frank Butterman will appear in future reactions that you are watching on here. Keep an eye out for him. You might have to fetch a suitcase from the van. Also Simon Skinner is played by Timothy Dalton who played James Bond in a couple of films.

Anonymous

Do you not recognise the yarp guy as the hound from Game of Thrones.

Michael

Of course steve merchant is in this, his west country accent is too good not to use in a rural village in Gloucestershire

Lionhunter

Yeeees. Man you gotta get to Spaced after At worlds end. It’s what started it all. There would be no Cornetto trilogy without Spaced!!

Anonymous

When this came out people didn't like it much, I remember everyone saying it didn't live up to Shawn Of The Dead.... but in hindsight it didn't deserve the hate. Worlds End on the other hand..... the weakest of the three by far.

David Lyons

These movies really take you by surprise, huh? You go in expecting a silly comedy and what you get are masterpiece examples of the genre they're parodying! This one's my favourite of the trilogy but I think choosing comes down to which genre of movie you prefer, zombie or buddy cop action. I saw this in the cinema and for me it cemented Edgar Wright as one of the truly great directors of our time. World's End is great too, but I think they left it too long, between Spaced (which you should absolutely get around to watching!), Shaun and Fuzz there were roughly three year gaps but as Wright was then doing Scott Pilgrim instead we had to wait six years for World's End, which killed some of the Cornetto trilogy hype IMO.

i love this movie awesome reaction mate :)

If you pressed the pen icon you can edit comments I discovered it the other day 🙂

NEXUS

So many Easter eggs in here, you noticed the terminator homage but there was 2 within the same scenes. First the dvd nick frost threw down landed on shaun of the dead dvd also the fence jump scene was a recall to shaun of the dead garden hopping scene. Loads more in here too and fun facts regarding the actors, you'll notice one of the actors popping up in your only fools an horses watch later in the series storyline and a few from Harry Potter in here too.

Steve King

If you're liking these guy's work you should add "Spaced" to your sitcom schedule. It featured Pegg and Frost as best mates (of course) and each episode is based around a "geek theme" (i.e. a movie, computer game, something from horror or sci-fi) whilst telling a good story over the series. Very funny.... Trailer: https://youtu.be/IXx0pxPD8mY

Funny how you said you bet he wish he had a gun, while chasing the cloaked suspect in the garden centre, instead of running after him for so long. That's a contentious issue :). Cops shooting suspects to avoid a long pursuit. Rayshard Brooks for example. Great reaction Josh, much appreciated

I think this is my favorite of the Cornetto trilogy. The only down side is, any time I hear someone say 'The Greater Good' I have to repeat it in that monotone voice.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

I loved this, glad you enjoyed it :) I knew you would though. They strike the perfect balance between action, comedy and drama with tiny heart warming moments thrown in. I think you should definitely do The World's End next to complete the trilogy. Then it'll be perfect timing for the Inbetweeners films after you finish the series off :)

Anonymous

was great movie

Relyx

They say you always spot something new when you watch these movies, and it's true. I just noticed that when they were fighting in the model village his gun landed and smashed the entrance to the model Somerfield, which matches all the police armed and going through the entrance of the actual Somerfield. So damn good!

Contex - It's Just A Ride

Don't know if you noticed when he threw the DVD down during the chase there was a Shaun Of The Dead copy.

Anonymous

Just wait to see Steve Coogan (police Inspector at the start) in his Alan Partridge form, some absolute comedy genius!

David Williams

Originally I preferred Shaun but after seeing this more it not only became my fave Cornetto film but my favourite film full stop. I've now lost count of how many times I've seen this but it gets better every time as I notice more and more clever stuff. It's a masterpiece of film-making.

Anonymous

Don’t know if any1 else agrees but what about pushing Borat forward and doing that before the new movie. That way you can do Borat 2 whilst there is mega hype around it

Anonymous

This is one of the best movies ever. Nevermind the best Cornetto movie. It requires multiple rewatches to even get close to catching every joke. You missed lots of clever spoken jokes at the start, when you thought it was just a standard scene-setting. Also, when Olivia Coleman makes a suggestive joke, the old boy with the strong accent, cuts to the chase, to confirm it. "I've had my top off here, before!" "Tits!" The details are amazing. The filming and editing are what you would expect for a blockbuster action film. It is so easy to half-arse when doing comedy, as it is the joke that counts. This is an action movie with jokes. Or is it?!

Don't forget Edward Woodward. Star of the Wicker Man, and The Equalizer.

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks man I really enjoyed this one alot =] I thought he looked familiar but I wasn't sure where i knew him from.

AfterWorkReactions

I thought he looked familiar, but I wasn't sure where he was from. Tay is much better at knowing where actors are from than me.

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks man, these movies are for sure different than anything I have ever seen but I really enjoyed them a whole lot.

AfterWorkReactions

That is awesome man, I love that these movies go together in the way they do will all of the inside jokes.

AfterWorkReactions

Very true man these movies are a lot to take in, they are so good though so I will have to watch them again soon =]

AfterWorkReactions

I really did enjoy it. You're totally right they do a great job with balancing comedy and more serious moments. I have to check my list I don't remember off hand what is next but I am looking forward to World's end =]

Edgar Wright is a genius; and simon pegg and nick frost's input and contributions lead to this trilogy of parodies that transcended that by having their own original plot, Shaun of the dead taking inspiration from dawn of the dead and the resident evil sketch from Spaced, hot fuzz being heavily inspired by the wickerman and i wont spoil world's end's inspiration, but yeah they're all phenomenal

Carl-Fredrik L

The woman playing his ex-gf Janine is actress Cate Blanchette

Carl-Fredrik L

SPOILERS: An interesting thing about this film to me is how Angel goes from being an uptight "by the book" police-officer to becoming a presumably reckless and brash action-hero (althou no one actually dies from the showdown at the end!) is sort of a heroes journey in reverse !? in that he doesnt really grow and learn at the end as he sort of "over does" the letting loose part. Thats something i find a really funny and interesting twist xD

Carl-Fredrik L

I know its the least liked movie in the trilogy, but i enjoyed The Worlds End. I think you should react to it too. make up your own mind :)

Adam C Turek

The actor playing the The Vicar (Paul Freeman) was the villain in the first Indiana Jones movie - and judging by the Megazord box behind you in shot, you might also be interested to know that he also played Ivan Ooze in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie (1995). Also one of the Detective Andy's was the lad in Shaun of the Dead that worked with Shaun in the store and gave him hassle about phone calls. He went onto become the villain in the most recent Jurassic Park. The whole thing about the Swan and why Skinner and the Police Chief swerved to avoid it, is because the Queen technically has ownership of Swans in certain parts of Britain and its a criminal offense to hunt/harm them.

Kieran B

There’s a DVD extra on YouTube called Fuzzball Rally, it’s a video diary of their promotional tour of Hot Fuzz across the US. It’s about an hour long but there’s some really funny bits in it

Jack Veazey

A true British classic. I can't wait for the golden mile, I've completely forgot most of the film at this point

AfterWorkReactions

LOL agreed man the movie has so many layers and jokes it is easy to miss them. I will for sure give it another watch sometime as I really did enjoy it.

AfterWorkReactions

That is awesome man thank you! I do like Power Rangers a whole lot lol. I am bad at recognizing actors, Tay is much better at that then me. She calls it movie trivia lol
