Spoiler Free:  I enjoyed the Bowie scene just as much the second time. I was concerned that watching the clip on YouTube ruined the scene for me. Knowing Maggie and Andy's character definitely added value to the scene.

Maggie pretending to be a fan scene was so hard to watch. Maggie is so lovable but screws up so much lol. Her and Dougal could be brother and sister lol. I really enjoyed this episode there were a lot of cringe moments, the weird fan at the bar, Maggie as a fake fan and the homeless guy are the top three for me.  If When The Whistle Blows was a real show would you all watch it lol?

Its official Maggie is the worst wing woman in history 😂 I love this epsiode, it's mainly known as the Bowie episode as youd expect. But the episode as a whole is great, Andy struggling with fame and thinking he has the 'wrong' kind of fame and fans. But ultimately realising he doesnt fit in the high end celeb world and embraces his fans for what they are.

This was aired in 2006. Ironically, the BBC had a massive hit 5 years later with a sitcom called "Mrs Brown's Boys" which featured a guy in a silly wig, dressed as a woman in a show full of inuendo

God I love Bowie, he really was a one of kind legend. Great episode. No, you couldn't pay me to watch When the Wind Blows. as others have said its a proto-mrs browns boys. A show that is a fantastic indicator of intelligence. Gotta say as well I think Steve is really underrated as an actor and writer. Ricky gets all the glory but I feel Steve is better.

It's funny and I love the cringe but you can't help feeling sorry for Andy with the whole place singing and basically laughing at him. I do like the story of extras as it develops.

I love the homeless guy recognising him. Such a throwback to the XFM days where he'd talk about homeless people recognising him from The Office, so they had to have been watching it in shop windows

I find this episode is a little darker in some ways. On the one hand Andy is really begging for a reality check to be brought down a peg or two. But then on the other hand, to have a whole room full of people. Most of which he doesn't know, berate him so savagely moves from cringe funny to something a lot darker. It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. What I love about Ricky is that he isn't a one trick pony. He doesn't just churn out one style slightly reformatted to have the appearance of something new. Where as The Office and Extras are quite similar in that they are both cringe comedy with a very honest unflinching style. But also with real touch of heart. He follows up with Derek and Afterlife which are still very Ricky but aren't afraid to be dip their toes a little deeper in the drama pond. I personally think Afterlife is the best thing he has ever done. But you can't reallly compare the shows against each other as they all have something very different to offer.

LOL I do agree man, thanks for the insight. I really loved this episode, and it was a it different than the others. I keep hearing Afterlife is good I look forward to checking it out soon hopefully.
