Spoiler Free: This was a good start to the second season. You would think I would be use to the cringe in this show by now but it still gets me lol. I know others have commented they don't cringe they just laugh when something cringey happens. I wonder when that will start to happen to me. I cringe then laugh others just laugh. I think it's because I'm so immersed into shows I place myself in the character's shoes and think about how uncomfortable and embarrassed I would be to be in whatever situation they are in. Does anyone else do that or do you just take things as they are? This is a show these people aren't real this isn't actually happening so why should I cringe at make-believe.

I am curious what camp are you guys in?? (The it's not real camp ) or ( The immersion camp)?Hell you might be both who knows lol.

As always I would love to read your comments below

Thanks for watching !!

The new Star Trek series just doesn't make sense to me... Redlettermedia sum it up pretty well again.

Rob Weetman

Did you watch Scoobynatural? The special Supernatural and Scooby Doo Crossover? That was great.

Anonymous

So glad you did militant black guy yesterday enjoyed it. Hope you manage to get round to the other videos from him at some point

Tony Smyth

Inbetweeners Is not real, apart from Mr Gilbert who used to be a very bad school teacher in real life and that's why he became a comedian. (4 of his pupils were in their mid-20s and he never noticed.) --He's about 8 foot tall and very intimidating, so he gets away with it. (It's NOT real.)

Samuel Coghlan-White

If you like Buffy/Super Natural, you need to watch Doctor Who. You will be the true reactor GOD if you start doctor who

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

I'm in both camps tbh. I think I'm just so used to cringy comedy that sometimes I'm numb to it and I just laugh. Other times I really feel the cringeyness of it and feel that horrible second-hand embarrassment before I find it funny. It depends on the situation that I'm watching and the mood I'm in at the time. One of the cringiest things in The Inbetweeners for me is when he calls Mr Gilbert 'Phil' in front of everyone and Mr Gilbert makes him repeat his name. I think I cringe more when lots of people are there to witness it rather than when a person does or says something cringeworthy in front of only one other person. I think I also cringe more if someone else is cringing, like watching you react :-D

Carly in this is played by the daughter of Anthony Head, the librarian from Buffy. He also makes a cameo in the first Inbetweeners movie.

Seriously, the show you really, really want is Red Dwarf. You'll get more of the jokes than it's British audience ever did. RESPECT THE CULTS.

Kieran B

There’s definitely plenty out there to watch still, Red Dwarf is long running, Alan Partridge has a lot of material, and there’s the shows on your polls all of which I’d be happy to see. Fresh Meat could be another one worth watching, it’s slightly more surreal but almost a sequel to Inbetweeners (and ‘Simon’ is in it), it’s about British university/college life and is written by the two writers of Peep Show. So a good crossover. There’s still a fair bit out there yet. And new shows you may end up loving too. On the sci-fi front, have you ever watched the Expanse?

daniel venables

your saying thats its going to be hard to feel the void. tbh there are so many shows that will fill it. i have lived through so many great british comedies. some new some old. its the tip of the iceberg for you

Add Catastrophe to your list too (along with Man Down) if you’re worried about running out of things to watch. But to be honest, there are thousands of episodes of top quality comedy from the UK. If you keep watching, we’ll keep suggesting.

Bad Education was worth a watch too (3 series).

Adam C Turek

The Blonde girl that Simon likes, Carly is actually Anthony Heads Daughter (Giles from Buffy)

Toby Lewis

Pro-tip, instead of clicking next episode at the end, click watch credits. That way you can still pause but get zero spoilers. I’ve not watched the whole thing yet so I’m not sure if that happened, but noticed the start was missing a few seconds because you’d seen them on the last reaction

Fred bates

You know the English guy Niles from Buffy A girl Simon is really into is his daughter.

Luke Barron

The Orville is better than star trek discovery

AfterWorkReactions

I have watched some of it with Tay, she likes it alot. I haven't seen that episode though. I bet its awesome though I love Scooby.

AfterWorkReactions

I think you misunderstood what I meant bud. I understand the show isn't real. I meant I feel second hand embarrassment because I was a teenage boy once and I did stupid stuff too. So I was curious if others felt embarrassed for them or just thought it was funny.

AfterWorkReactions

I have seen most of the David Tennant episodes man I like him alot. Tay has watched the whole show including the old episodes but I just watched that bit with her. I liked David Tennants character in that show a whole lot =]

AfterWorkReactions

LOL I can understand that. Like when they something cringy and alot of people are around its so much worse lol. I guess too because when i was a teenage guy that age I did super cringy weird stuff too so it makes me think of those times. Thanks for watching appreciate you =]

Michael

I think the same thing about Peep Show. I will never be able to watch it for the first time ever again :( or find a show that i loved as much as 😪

Anonymous

Btw you should know that basically most of the events that happen in the inbetweeners are based on the 2 creator’s actual experiences, so even if in the show they are actors it’s still cringe to think that this stuff actually happened to the people behind the camera

Anonymous

Really think you should jump in to "Spaced" next. Polls are definitely the fairest way of doing things, but you will only get to watch the popularist shows as nothing cult will break through

AfterWorkReactions

That makes it even worse lol. I can totally relate to this show, I did some goofy things when I was young. The cringe is intense on this show =]

Mike B

Bro I loved Buffy too. Also will you react to the Inbetweener movies when you're done with the show?

Tony Smyth

My advice Michael is to watch it all twice, When you do it Afterwork it makes it twice as nice. Whenever Super Hans appears My laughter causes tears And please read this message in David Mitchell's voice.

Jason Fisher

"Thats what you get for leading on paedos you slut"

Saul

I've always had exactly the same problem you have with awkward comedy. It's why, even though I think they're both brilliant, I could never watch Peep Show or the UK Office for pleasure. I cringe too much and feel the same awkwardness the characters feel. I think it's too much empathy. Some people have too little, some people have too much. I could never watch shows like Big Brother either, for the same reasons.

That's the exact place and room we stayed at on our field trip to Dorset. I took a litre of vodka. It was a great experience that to this day i cherish.
