Nah. Unless a bot is pretty rich they usually don't have a backup.

It's been dabbled on and it'll be explained a bit further, but basically backup requires building a compatible body, as well as a 'conscious transfer.' It's less a matter of space and more that it's just super complicated to do. Their conscious is a bit more complex than just code, due to imprinting.

🤔👍😁 oh, i get it now. Basically it's the old body-mind relationship discussion in philosophy, where for Descartes the mind is not just the knowledge and the memories but is also itself shaped by the body in which it lives. Which is why when PV-02 saw PV-01 she said she might have been the same mind but now that she's in this body she's not her anymore, and then we had the talk about how she can't be reinstalled and yadda yadda yadda. Yes, you talked bout it. But i did not think it applied to other robots' backups too. As, yes, buying a new body might cost... but while her specifically as person can't live in a new body due to how she's built, any other communication bot might just "do a Cartesian" and just get reinstalled in a new body, and if these droids with her aren't custom models then they too might just buy a a spare body for themselves. And thus the whole discussion on how "you will absolutely die" was not just something to scare them into buying spare bodies for themselves, but to remind PV-02 that she's too unique and she should not just rush into danger because she found out she had a "possibly one-use only" superpower.
