Hi all, I've been thinking. Every now and again, between renders I play with my character's skin settings. I do it between every render and always go back to what I have originally. I'm stuck between going with a stylised art like the glossy skin I make now or something more realistic. I'm not sure which I like the most.

I'm reading up on techniques used by professionals and things now and might give semi-realism a try (translucency - light coming through the thin skin, ears etc, veins, pores, things like that).

I would like to know what you think. As an artist, I'm always my own biggest critic. I've focused a lot of time on an outfit the last day or two that I think looks really good and is probably one of the more detailed ones I've created, so I should have more detail in the skin to compliment it, surely?

Maybe I try it for a while and if we don't like it, I go back to my original style?

Anyway, let me know :)

Maybe show a couple of comparison renders like A/B testing? I think I would lean more toward the realistic over the glossy...

You should give it a try and Show the results! Then your fans can give you Feedback!

3dx is never about realism only ! From my point of view this art depends on creativity and bringing imagination to reality. The real art is to mixing pure reality with pure fantasy!!! , very small example : crating very realistic beautiful and sexy feminine girl as a (hermaphrodite) which do sexist in reality but not as (futanari) from fantasy. in short a character has a feminine cock looks very real and very detailed that force Straight sexually person to feel stunned turns him on!! people who love 3dx never look for realism only ,

I'm down to see it. Give us your best and worst. Because it's all subjective.

100% agree with Abrahama above

I agree with the A/B comparison shot, but you can always try it and see how it turns out?

I think the more realistic you make them the better, I follow a few that you would have a hard time telling if it were a drawing or a picture of a real woman.

I prefer realistic over glossy myself.

Personally I prefer a more realistic look. I've noticed lot of 3DX characters tend to come out looking almost like plastic Barbie dolls, which isn't really my thing. I haven't really had a huge issue with the skin textures and shaders you've used in the past though, I think they often strike a good balance. But overall; the more realistic looking, the better, in my opinion.

I agree with Moober. A more realistic look is better, although realistic looking skin is hard to achieve. Also your models, Forged, are quite nice as they are, already.

I like your idea here. Love to see a sample comparison down the line. I would love to see a comparison between the old, old with less gloss and the new one.
