Broken Promise

Weapon (any sword), uncommon (requires attunement)

Component: phial of humanoid blood

One year of arduous labour was necessary to produce a masterpiece of a blade, meant for a nobleman who demanded nothing short of perfection. Unsatisfied with the final result, however, the noble turned the sword on its craftsman in a fit of rage, and the magic within it reacted violently to this betrayal. When the dust settled, all that remained of the razed smithy was broken promise, stuck forever in the midst of its own destruction.

This weapon has 6 charges and regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn.

Maker’s Wrath. This weapon deals double damage to objects, structures, and constructs.

Blade Storm. Once on each of your turns, you can spend 1 charge to replace one of your attacks with a special strike, shooting the broken fragments of the sword in a 5-foot wide, 30-foot long line originating from you. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d6 damage of the sword’s type on a failed save, or half as much damage on a success.

---------------------------------------

Rare variant : Increase the save DC to 15, and the damage to 3d6. When you use the Blade Storm property, you can choose to shoot the fragments in a 15-foot cone instead.

Very rare variant : Increase the save DC to 16, and the damage to 4d6. When you use the Blade Storm property, you can choose to shoot the fragments in a 15-foot cone or a 10-foot radius sphere centred on you instead.
