Vinyls! My wallets worst enemy lol

Anonymous

Can't be the ✨aftershow✨ if it's the first one uploaded 😉

Quadrant

Bought a CD that was an Australian print. Somehow it's got what assumed to be mould on the cd liner and some tears in the reflective data layer, and yet it works fine enough

Anonymous

Came for Frank but stayed for the dank

Anonymous

Oh man, I love vinyl. Such a fun hobby. I love going to thrift shops and music shops and fingering through albums looking for interesting albums.

Anonymous

Goodnight, Frank! 😘🤗

Anonymous

Aw mate, that last earphone in your video is actually a crystal earpice, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_earpiece they're not supposed to be used for music because they sound like trash but they're good for things like telegrams and crystal radio, because they can be used without a power source, and the stupid long cable acts as an antenna.

Anonymous

Really nice collection. Love your vids, but my ophidiophobia so I can't enjoy Frank's appearances.

Anonymous

You've got some great vinyls there🤘🏼 I have some of the 80's myself which are falling apart.

Jasmine Czerwik

Yusss Songs for the Deaf, love a good bit of Queens of the Stone Age

Anonymous

I remember when I went through a vinyl phase. developed a great business relationship with an ebay seller id buy punk 45s off of. He would send me just all kinds of kick ass extra stuff. I wish he was still in the business.

Anonymous

I still find it funny Nirvava got away with that NSFW album image

Anonymous

Got that Monty Python vinyl myself. might be a sign to give it a listen again sometime soon.

Anonymous

Whaa, I'm actually semi early for this. Is it bad I know near to none other than The ones the regular old Spotify listener

Nicholas Wilson

The vinyl experience: *crackle* *pop* *phut* ski… *crackle* *pop* *phut* ski… *crackle* *pop* *phut* ski… *crackle* *pop* *phut* ski… well you get the picture? I’m in my late 40’s & grew up with vinyl, my generation moved away from it (& cassettes) for a reason. If you want the fabled “warmth” of vinyl a good DAC & amp will give you that warm sound without the *crackle* *pop* *phut* skip.

Anonymous

My dad has that exact 1981 hits album that he bought back in the day

Anonymous

Potato.

Anonymous

The cheap headphone video is hilarious. Can you make a video on DIY headphones at some point later? I saw a lot of interesting things when I type in "headphone housing diy" in aliexpress.

Anonymous

Your parents were way better at collecting dope records than mine were, would have much rather scored a Zappa from their stash than *checks notes* every Barry Manilow and Billy Joel album released in the 70s and 80s.

Anonymous

New vinyl is thicker, but it doesn't have an antistatic coating. They had a chemical on the old ones to reduce static. I've had thin vinyl that easily sounds better than the new stuff. Not saying you should waist your money buying price hiked old presses.

Anonymous

Now you just need a chocolate vinyl. You can eat them once you're finished listening!

Anonymous

I don’t even collect vinyl for the sound anymore, I just like the feeling of owning an album I really like that I can show to others. Also lots of my friends get a kick out of me putting a record on at parties and such, it’s really fun! 😄

Anonymous

Mm, mould! My favourite! Have you heard of soundcore? one of my favourite non-music youtube channels had them as a sponsor, plugging their wireless earbuds. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them, some of their models have the dinky little stem like an airpod.

Anonymous

I am jealous that your parents had good taste in music. I inherited a Gordon Lightfoot record, some John Denver and one Bob Dylan album. My Dad isn’t really a music fan. But I’m up to 100-ish of my own records now. You should check out Mondo, they do some great soundtracks and the artwork is the best. My paternal grandma had Motown albums, which I need to go searching for. My maternal grandma liked The Beach Boys, but no Pet Sounds.

Anonymous

Hey wade! Long time lurker. Have ya considered listening to post rock of sorts? Or math rock? I personally just found a band called toe and they are real technical. Maybe ya gonna like em. https://open.spotify.com/track/3wnu1IeQEAEYWqwtkKBmQi?si=9U9a4Si1TCKaeZxOtqJfeA&utm_source=copy-link My favorite band is if these trees could talk. Their pieces are super cool

Anonymous

Man, one of my dreams in life is to own an original pressing of an AC/DC album. Back in Black is the tip top, but any would do. Great collection.

Anonymous

The best sounding vinyl record I own is Foo Fighters the colour and the shape. Don't ask me how, but they got that sounding better than I've ever heard it.

Anonymous

I was going to say that after seeing the thumbnail, I could smell Cultosaurus Erectus a mile away, but that might just be the mold (or Frank).

Wizard Wolf

try to get an original Chicago transit authority album, one of Chicago's firsts, I recommend it highly for listening to with the boys

Anonymous

Songs for the Deaf. Quite possibly my favourite album. QOTSA at their very best, with some madman called Dave on drums. I’m gonna have to listen to it now. Not that it’s a hardship or nowt, needs must! Absolution, although not my favourite Muse album, does have the very track on it that set off my music taste- Stockholm Syndrome. I’d heard Muse before that, but it didn’t vibe. That one track though, everything changed. EVERYTHING! It’s amazing to hear it now with proper sound systems and high res and I hear new things.

Anonymous

Have a original copy of back in black as well, vinyl is just another reason for me to love this channel

Anonymous

I had no idea Jeff Wayne was on vinyl, I had it on tape and I literally wore down two copies of the album because I listened to it so much.

Anonymous

Its a neat hobby. Some games have even gotten collectors edition soundtracks on vinyl. I remember quake got a semi unoffical one(Trent did the vinyl, but I am unsure if ID gave the blessing to it.

Anonymous

That is scarytime, getting your first few dozen albums. Going into record shops was insane, I just wanted to buy nearly every and each one I saw... for the cool cover images, interesting for a reason or another, that one other album of theirs was good, someone recommended this once, "gotta catch 'em all" -discographies and the excuses go on. I've been collecting since I was about 14 or 15 (nearly 50 now) and I've never sold a single vinyl album (other than my own band's vinyl), but I'm getting there. Happy collecting, but keep yer wits about!

Anonymous

Beeyoutiful on the DT. Love to see it.

Anonymous

I know it's a huge debate but I really recommend looking into old record players. They are so much more fun... and jankey But fun!!

Anonymous

I just listened to bitches brew and I think it is the worst piece of music I have ever heard in my life

OzRetrocomp

My sister had one of those plastic vinyl storage thingies, only hers was red instead of yellow. Good times. BTW a reason those compilation albums tend to have poor sound quality is because the record companies that released them would try and cram as much content on them as possible. The sweet spot is around 20 minutes per side; 22 tops. Once you're up to 25-27 minutes per side (like a lot of these compliation albums were) the groove ends up being quite narrow, which affects the sound.

Anonymous

dankbuds turning into a vinyl channel is really dangerous for my budget

Anonymous

I have one of those Audio Technica turntables, a thrifted receiver, and some Infinity bookshelfs and its all so fun. I'm still waiting for the day that I get to steal my parents 1979 pioneer pl3000 automatic turntable

Anonymous

Glad to be back. My Patreon account is finally cooperating, and my card is acceptable again.

Anonymous

Okay but that War of the Worlds is wild, do really give it a try

Anonymous

Doesn’t everyone want to just be cozy and full of quails though? Frank knows what’s best.

Anonymous

Omg absolution is legit my favourite album, and the only one I bought new, absolute banger. I’ve got led zep III and houses of the holy too, but they were my dads (but I still love em tho)

Anonymous

This is so cool I’m glad you’ve gotten into it! I’ve got a ton of original 1960’s albums of my parents. Beatles, Hendrix, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, etc. i absolutely love all of my vinyl. Can’t wait to see/hear more about this from you!

Anonymous

Monty Python!! I remember as a kid watching the VHS of 'Monty Python in the Hollywood Bowl' with my family. best times

Anonymous

Blue Oyster Cult is legit my favorite band, and I always get really excited when people talk about them. I love all of their music, Fire of Unknown Origin is probably my favorite album, followed by The Symbol Remains, Blue Oyster Cult, and then Cultosaurus Erectus.

Anonymous

My father has so many original pressings of vinyls, so much AC/DC and other old school rock. He’s a drummer too so listening to the vinyls with him it’s fun to listen to the drums on each album and see him go along with the beat

Anonymous

I had also started listening to vinyls. So far many are just those "Top hits" albums, except they are from Hong Kong and are surprisingly well recorded from what they are

Anonymous

Acca Dacca! <3

Anonymous

ACKA DACKA

Kim Gaetjens

A vinyl collection is not complete without a Creedence album. My dad had the same one.

Anonymous

How can one run without legs?

Anonymous

I am waiting for the dankboi to listen to arctic monke

Anonymous

Every parents record collection has War of the Worlds and for good reason it absolutely slaps on Vinyl.

Anonymous

Can't believe there's no copy of Rumours in there! Much love for the acca dacca tho

Anonymous

I used to love looking through vinyl for old albums and singles as well as some obscure and weird stuff. I found a bunch of flexi-discs at one point with some rather obscure singles as well as a punky spoken word song.

Anonymous

Or buy yourself a £60 Duel 505 with an £80 cartridge already installed. I love you eBay

Anonymous

So glad to see you've joined us on the dark side, welcome to the wild wonderful world of vinyl

Anonymous

Ayyy dual 505 gang! My first turntable i bought a month ago and i love it!

Anonymous

I had the monty python record as a child. My mum let me play her records. She was cool.

Anonymous

I also got into vinyl recently! It's been great, i mostly get old pressings of prog rock from the 70s. Even have 1st pressing yes close to the edge, can't wait for the next vinyl video!

Anonymous

King Gizzard is my fav band and they also got two drummers! Kinda wanna check out that jazz band now

Anonymous

Any dream theater fans should 100% check out haken if they're not already obsessed with them. Probably the best modern prog metal band out there at the moment

Anonymous

Funny enough, I just got a record player a few days ago! I just today went to my parents house and got a little pile of classic country records all from the mid to late 70's and I'm amazed by how fun it is to listen to, even though I don't ha e a setup to support it properly, it's still crazy fun to hear records that my great grandparents Listened to 40 or 50 years ago

Mat Gadd

Hah! I grew up in Bonham's hometown, so led zep very highly regarded anyway, but they also deserve their accolades. Legit classics.

Anonymous

You just skip over CCR like that!?

Mat Gadd

DUDE!!! ... DUDE!!! ARGH!!! Holy shit, Dream Theater. They were my gateway into progressive stuff. Mad concept album, amazing writing and instrumentation... James LaBrie does his best, and it's a great time.

Anonymous

Ahhh it makes me so happy to see an original printing of Back in Black. AC/DC was the band that sparked my love for music all the way back when I was 12.

Anonymous

Cultasaurus definitely isn't blue oyster cult's best album, only track on it I like is black blade. Fire of unknown origin is the best album to listen to in my opinion

Anonymous

Jazz…pffft. My mum’s got all the original Beatles UK pressings. Hope I’m in her will…

Anonymous

Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds. 10/10! 👏👏👏

Anonymous

May Frank always feel full of quails.

Anonymous

oh fuck yeah! my mom loves bad company

Anonymous

Linkin Park Hybrid Theory was my first vinyl, 100% would recommend

Anonymous

I tested my first ever hifi system in the shop with a cd of this when I was about 13 (God knows what I was doing with a cd of that at that age, think it was my grandad’s!) and it blew me away! Still love it to this day, 30-odd years later and still makes me thing of My dear old Poppa Reg RIP!

Anonymous

i went to frank zappa’s house/studio all the time as a kid, because i was good friends with his granddaughter.

Anonymous

Oh my god. Absolution. Takes me back to junior year of high school.

Ethan

I will keep posting this link in comments until he reviews it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/KZ-AZ09-0-78mm-2-Pin-Bluetooth-5-2-Audio-Receiver-Wireless-Adapter-for-KZ-Earbud-/133885151989?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

Anonymous

Dream theatre! That's my favourite album by them and is easily worth the sit down, it sounds great. Dream theatre has got to be the best gateway to prog metal ever too, they got me into bands like tool which I adore

Anonymous

mate ive been cravin for an ipod vieo

Anonymous

as a drummer, I really think you'll love Songs for the Deaf by Queens of the Stone Age. Dave Grohl goes WILD on the drums the whole album. I especially think you'll like Song for the Dead off of it. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

Anonymous

I love Records, I've made it a goal of mine to buy a record for every album that REALLY holds a special place in my heart, and when I get old I can pass em all to my kids

Anonymous

the first miles davs album ive listened was bitches brew.not an easy album to begin with

Anonymous

Hey Mr. Pods! Been collecting vinyl records for about 2 years now and have no great way to store them. Was hoping to get the name of the yellow divider you had shown? Thanks in advance, best of luck!

Anonymous

Where’s the drop panda video love the rest of your stuff but been waiting on this one since you got them

Anonymous

I need to learn how to use vinyl. I'm considering getting a turntable for my new place if there's room.

Anonymous

Hey! That's a pretty sweet little vinyl stand. Do you (or anyone here in the comments) have an ID on it?

Anonymous

I love that he likes everything. Like I love rage so seeing two of their albums was really cool, and there was a couple ones from artists I don't like but my mom loves, and on top of that and the hair bands a bunch of stuff I didn't know. Idk I just think that's really cool.

Anonymous

very cool

Anonymous

As a drummer Chad Smith is one of my heroes too. I saw Foo Fighters live back in 2016(?) and they did an encore where Chad Smith came out and sat in for Taylor. They played Stay With Me by Rod Stewart and I realized 3 of my favorite drummers were on stage together. Cool times.

Christian Smith

Always love to find another vinyl enthusiast. May your path be full of (probably no more than usual) thrift store discovery

Anonymous

One of my favorite things to do while going to record stores or even thrifting is to just pick up records that I've never heard of before and have my first listens of them to be on vinyl. It's a much more interesting and fun way to discover music than to go by recommendations or Spotify playlists

Anonymous

queens of the stone age are amazing

Anonymous

I’m glad you have taste. Sheik Yerbouti is a classic album

ThatEvilCanadian

I wonder if he's listened to King Gizzard before

Anonymous

I was forced to write a paper on bitches brew and I still don't really understand it lol

Anonymous

I just want to come over and listen to vinyls with you lol. too bad i live in USD land

Anonymous

My grandma got a really nice Victrola record player recently (One of the new ones with Bluetooth and a CD and Tape player built in) and we both just go to thrift stores to see if there’s treasures in the midst of all the Christian Rock vinyls. Best find was a tape of Johnny Cash (pretty sure it’s ferric but I’m not an expert).

Anonymous

I just got into cassette, which is really fun, because you can buy used blank tapes, and get someone's playlist from the 80s

Anonymous

YOOOOOOOOO Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds kicks ALL the ass. You gotta sit down with that one properly.

Anonymous

An absolutely disturbing lack of Ween here

Anonymous

I'm a tad bothered by the complete lack of Pink Floyd in that collection

Anonymous

Pink Floyd albums, don't think about it, just go get a bunch of them. Thank me later!

Anonymous

I was gonna jump in and say the EXACT SAME THING!!! IT RULEESS!! I envy you if you haven't listened to it yet, it's a banger of a audiofilm

Anonymous

I have the exact same War of the Worlds vinyls passed on from my dad 🤣😂

Anonymous

I have the same Zappa album passed down to me from my late dad. What a banger!

Anonymous

I’ve got the Pitchfork from Songs for the Deaf tattooed on my arm. I love that album.

Anonymous

can't believe you went past Led Zeppelin III without spinning the spinny insert!!

Anonymous

Niice :D

Anonymous

Okay, but you've listened to them, right? There aren't quite many experiences like it. Absolutely fantastic tunes, and the narration by Richard Burton is so impactful.

Anonymous

Anyone know how to play these videos on random mix? I need something to sleep to lol

Anonymous

I got myself a good deal on a Benny Goodman record this week. They were playing Blood, Sweat & Tears in the store, and I liked it so much I picked that up as well. Great stuff

Anonymous

Where’s the S Club Party 12inch?

Anonymous

Thoughts for a vinyl video, can we get a back to back of the same track on lossless format vs vinyl?! Might help some people understand the extra depth you get with vinyl! Then again it might not 🤔 would still be fun to hear!

Anonymous

Do you have a white whale vinyl that you've been looking for for ages and just haven't been able to find yet? I'm super excited to see your vinyl video and maaaaybe see you get into collecting record players? I know they're supes expensive, I'm just excited to hear some of this stuff through your really nice speakers through my shitty desktop speakers!

Anonymous

Vinyl is such a fulfilling hobby! I got into it a few years ago when I found a copy of Weird Al’s first album on wax at a goodwill. I spent a buck o’ six on it and it has been the best decision I’ve made! If you’re for some really good reference quality records I can’t recommend the band Yello’s albums “Stella”, “Flag”, “Baby”, and “Pocket Universe”. They are all awesome and are definitely best on vinyl 😁

Anonymous

That Muse album is seminal

Anonymous

Hey man, you should do a video on Aussie Xmas songs. That’d be a laugh.

Anonymous

Wade, I love your music taste 🙌🏻

Anonymous

I believe that a vinyl collection is incomplete without some pressing of Genesis’ “Duke”

Anonymous

every time I see an ELO disk I remember that the dutch news broadcast VEVO has been using the intro of "here's the news" as its opening and exiting tune for decades now.

Jack DenHartog

One thing you're missing is Rush. You need an entire section dedicated to Rush. All of the Rush. All of the time. I started getting into Rush early 2021 and I still haven't stopped, even for a bit. Everyone has to have this experience and besides, Neil Peart is one of the best drummers in history.

Anonymous

My dad had that exact same vinyl of the second Monty Python you showed. I listened to it when I was younger and it's hilarious. He was and is into much more prog rock, but that brought back some memories

Anonymous

Frank is not a dog. Frank is a cat. I swear that look is exactly the look my cat gives me when I wake him up.

Anonymous

I am getting into the higher res stuff. I only have a pair of sony MDR-1AM2 but I have MDR-Z7M2 on the way. I am curious what you all think, especially DankPods. Due to complicated circumstances I was only able to get the MDR-Z7M2 because Best Buy.

Anonymous

Wade, you're gonna LOVE the QOTSA album. From one drummer to another. Beautiful production, look up the recording technique on the drums if you didn't know.

Setsune Wave

The original run of The Monty Python Matching Tie and Handkerchief record was actually double-grooved on one side, so depending on where you started it would play one of two different sets of skits.

Anonymous

you should pick up a copy of the new 20th aniversery of muse's origin of symmetry, the mixing on it is increduble

dominick

The man likes Monty Python. Now that is a cultured lad.

Anonymous

Frank full of quails. My new band name.

Anonymous

So many great drum tracks on Songs for the Deaf. And Chicago Transit Authority through Chicago V are all solid albums. Some solid picks, Mr. Dank.

Anonymous

My dads got a 3 foot stack, and a scrap book like vinyl book belonging to my grandad with music from 49. Currently going through them with a 50 quid vinyl player from HMV.

Anonymous

Keen for your vinyl content. Vinyl can be a great way to get into HiFi music with the right gear and approach. I got into vinyl before I really cared about 'fidelity' or having an 'audiophile setup'... but that's part of the journey, I guess. My setup: Audio Technica LP5, no-name mixing desk as a DAC, 100 watt amp connected with home made RCA cables, pumping out to my grandpa's JBL 4311wx speakers from 1973... OR, hear me out, the Samsons!!! OR, wait, the Samson's, hooked up to my Fiio BTR5 streaming from an APTxHD Bluetooth unit hooked up to the DAC. Amazing. Love your energy Wade ❤️

Anthony

I forgot about War of the Worlds, I listened to it when I was a kid after being disappointed by a movie. Just had a listen to a few songs, I think I'll pick up a vinyl copy too!

Anonymous

War of the Worlds on chunky headphones in 1979. I was 5. One of my fondest music memories.

Anonymous

Mum and Dad used to use War of the Worlds as the soundtrack to our family Hide n Seek in the dark games around our place in the 80s. It's dark. You're trying to hide from your folks. OOOOOOOOLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH You bet I took ages to go to sleep. Flipping scary man.

Anonymous

It always makes me so happy to hear you talk about Frank Zappa. I got into Frank young because my grandma was close friends with him growing up in the Lancaster - he actually dated her older sister for awhile. And one of his friends who was in his old band (The Black-Outs) gifted my grandma an India-ink painting of a beatnik Frank had made. She still has it after all these years.

Anonymous

Non-related to the video, but maybe this idea could work for destroying nuggetphones. If you place them in the freezer for a while and then plug them in at max volume they might shatter just because of plastics (and other materials) being much more brittle at low temperatures

BarnyTrubble

I remember buying a semi cheap audio technica turn table in my 20's and basically becoming "the vinyl guy" and I went to Memphis TN at some point and spent like $300 in a vinyl shop and now it's this whole damn thing about vinyl. I don't even consider it to be the premium listening experience that many people make it out to be, but I do really like it and I got into the insane world of audio equipment because of it. What a strange way to get interested in music and hifi stuff.

Anonymous

I HAVE THE SAME OTTOMAN AS YOU

Anonymous

The Blue Oyster Cult album art looks like the first attempts at 3D printing!

Anonymous

Hell yeah iron maiden and alice cooper, my two favourites. You gotta do more vinyl videos

Anonymous

wow can’t believe you just scrolled right past the carole king! still though, great collection. makes me wanna crack out my parents old records

Anonymous

The guy on the album cover looks like allmight

Patrick

Where is the ottomon from dank, I nearly bought the yellow holder from JB but the ottoman seems way better

Anonymous

That ending was priceless

Anonymous

oh sheik yerbouti, one of Zappa's best

Anonymous

Dang mate, I’ve also recently gotten into vinyl! The only album that I have is Revolver by The Beatles, but that’s a good album to have.

Anonymous

Also kinda sad that Beatles isn’t there, but you can find new official remakes of old Beatles records. So hoping you get into it!

Anonymous

I’d love to know thoughts on war of the worlds. So much drama in that album. It’s not my usual thing but I love that album, audio drama, thingy.

Anonymous

No joke Alice cooper welcome to my nightmare is my favourite album of all time

Anonymous

Oh my god, our music taste is so similar

FritzTheWolf

For some reason I was attracted to Bitches Brew when you pulled it out. Been listening to it for a couple of days. Good stuff.

Anonymous

You have wonderful taste in music

Anonymous

my dude just want to say the shrink wrap will continue to shrink and put stress on the album covers and potentially warp the discs making them unplayable over time. invest in some aftermarket out sleeves and inner sleeves. Also that pressing of back in black will beat out any of the new ones. The new pressing sound like crap and idk why that is. Might be what they are pulling the source music from

Anonymous

You need to get good old Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, two 25 minute tracks of pure instrumentals, makes your ears transcend to another dimension. 10/10 would recommend.

Joe Blankenship

My dad was a drummer too. I've still got a lot of his old records. He had a lot of Humble Pie and ya don't hear much about them anymore even though they were big in the 70s. Another one of his favorites was Captain Beyond. Pretty great early prog rock.

Anonymous

I got into Vinyl collecting I have an audio technica atlp120xusbthe reason for vinyl are chunk monkes is becuse theyre pressed at 180 Grams

Anonymous

fan of any motley crue?

Anonymous

I used to have a decent vinyl setup when I was a dj. I spent so much money on my favorite music and had a huge case for it. It was my "backup" when i ran serato. Also my classy shit to impress the girls (it worked btw), but I got robbed and they only stole my vinyl collection. It broke me. Haven't bought a record since. My first was Metallica master of puppets tho.

Anonymous

When you said Bauwie i got flash backs to primary school when they called me up at the assembly and said my last name wrong

Anonymous

Dank you for some good taste in music! Cheers for sharing.

Anonymous

You should pick up a copy of MBV's Loveless on vinyl, the reissue is absolutely stellar
