Hey dankpods i took one of your suggestions and bought some Samson SR860’s to try out some audiophile stuff, and I just got them today and the first song I turned on was Tom Petty’s live preformace of Breakdown at Capitol studios, and OMG, It’s so weird being able to hear someone in the crowd and understand what they said! usually I hear them, but can’t make out what they said. I only have had them on for a couple hours but I LOVE it so far!

Funny enough, the only time I encountered a display unit it was exactly this type of cheap crap, they were at display on open tables in front of tents at an electronics market, they save pennies really. And I never seen anything being stolen there too.

If I had to assume anything about it, the only thing I can think of is that it might just be a display prop for a store to demonstrate how the product looks, but I have no idea why a store would want to demonstrate what is just a piece of junk MP3 player, especially in 2012.

Once again, I ask you, review the Jaba Elite Active 65T Earbuds. I have them and think they are very good. Only issue is that you can’t use the left earbud in its own. You need to use the right one simultaneously. I believe this is fixed in the 75t and 85t models. The 65’s don’t have active Noise Cancelling but they block a lot of sound from there shale and fit in the ear. I believe the issue with the left earbud may be fixed with the 75’s and 85’. Anyways, if you happen to see this, you probably won’t, chuck me a shoutout if you review them. There new RRP just dropped to $150 and they are on sale at JB Hi Fi for $129. Thanks

My only guess is that this was a store shelf piece that would get swapped with the real product when the customer checked out, that way the young shoplifter wanting a DC MP3 player is stealing non-functional goods. But even at the time these things would not have been all the expensive so it would be kind of odd retailers would go to that effort and added cost to have decoys. So it could just be a bootleg scam.
