Anonymous

Man i love you

Anonymous

Yay after show :) Look forward to these :)

Anonymous

mp3.com holy shit. that cursed service made like 2 of my favorite albums landlocked only to mp3 bc the guy never saved the albums as lossless

Anonymous

Yeah, nah! It's time to bust out the Tim Tams!

Anonymous

Yay, I’ve been waiting for an episode. God bless you man✝️

Anonymous

Just what I needed after my two hour filmbro class, thank you

Anonymous

Much appreciated.

Anonymous

I see the after show, but where's the normal show this time? Nevermind I found it lmao.

Anonymous

Will watch shortly. Currently 10 minutes into a 40 minute video about Doctor Who. Although when it comes the The Eagles, my favourite track of theirs is Journey Of The Sorcerer.

Anonymous

Nice pepa the pig band aid

Anonymous

I think Dank is like 0-47 in his war against the motorbike.

Anonymous

Oh, I remember using the internet just to visit the Pokemon homepage.

Anonymous

I love your vids but why is every Patreon video so bad Quality is it just the app because I went online and watch the video and then I downloaded the app and it was still bad quality????

Anonymous

The eeeeeeepeeeeeeeceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee let the team down this ep.

Anonymous

its a youtube vid so it runs fine in browser, its probably just the app yeah

Anonymous

crusty

Anonymous

I like that you call it the Aftershow even tho I watch it before the normal yt video but still good work keep it up

Anonymous

loving the new outro

Anonymous

the peppa pig plaster taste👌

Anonymous

Three Jazz degrees and being a professional drummer... so what do you think about Whiplash?

Anonymous

I tried Patreon on Safari and it was still bad quality

Anonymous

Mp3 Players referred to Winamp and some of the other stuff lol

Anonymous

"Another flop from Microsoft"? Didn't it have like 90% marketshare at one point?

Pietro Gagliardi

7:04 Wait that must be MusicMatch Jukebox... was it seriously already at version 4 in 1999?!!

Anonymous

New side channel; PeppaPods where all the 'kid' nuggets get their time to die.

Anonymous

All hail queen frank!

Anonymous

Me, I first logged on in 1995 and wanted to look for Star Trek TNG websites haha.

Soda Lord

Maaaan, yesterday I found an old 8MB SD Card in a draw circa 2003! It had about three dozen reasonable res Jpg's on it, and I have a feeling it was full to bursting with those.

Anonymous

Winamp keyboard shortcuts..bruh winamp was the REAL MCCOY ITS THE HAT ITS THE BEES KNEES ITS THE BUSINESS IT WILL BRING WORLD PEACE

Anonymous

Winamp is a music player that's still around. I use Winamp (though mostly for "shiggles.") They're up to ver 5.8 i think. I still use MP3s to this day as well.

Anonymous

I am a grown man with a job, bills and a full beard. Why do I mention this? To give some perspective when I say that those MP3s are older than I am.

Anonymous

Doesn't mean they're any good. Lots of people fail upwards. Microsoft Bob, Windows ME, Windows Vista, Microsoft Zune, Microsoft Kin, Microsoft Band, etc. Even some of their big successes like Internet Explorer, Windows XP and XBOX 360 were rubbish (Red Ring of Death, scratching discs).

Anonymous

I'm usimg mp3's.....

Anonymous

Downloading Winamp or RealPlayer and the likes took anywhere between 45 minutes and two hours over dial-up, so even just having Winamp included on that CD would have been a great bonus back in those says 😜

Anonymous

why was it made in 2001 but modified in 1999

Anonymous

3 jazz degrees heck yeah

Anonymous

to think this was from the late 90's

Anonymous

Yeah the after show my favorite

Anonymous

i love you dank mster

Anonymous

Winamp and Media Monkey were my 2 goto Media players back in the day, when ever you started up winamp tho it would give you this intro with the tagline "It really whips the Llama's ass!"

Anonymous

Cause this was pretty Shi... I LOL'd

Cole

3:47 Aww DankPods! You missed a Cyberpunk 2077 joke you could've made!

Anonymous

I love how the ol’ mate’s choco is still sealed on the cd drive

Aidan Rayner

I desperately want to convert all our music to AAC format but my retro PCs don’t like that unless I install VLC on them :/

Anonymous

Mid roll ads snuck their way into your last video DankPods. Those sneaky bastards.

Anonymous

So whats the dealio on your thumb, big boy

Anonymous

Or buying a game magazine with a demo CD 'cause downloading them would take 8+ hours and might fail overnight. 🤣

Anonymous

oh dear heaven's! you made me spill my tea at 0:57 already, damn it!

Anonymous

Just subbed legendary, you are my fav creator, keep being a nugget you fugget

Anonymous

...I still use MP3s. I honestly prefer it to spotify and stuff because I have control over my own music and not some streaming company

Anonymous

The music players you were looking for were the software included like Winamp. They don't have a list of physical mp3 players.

Anonymous

People like me who spend a lot of time archiving or sharing music still use MP3 and FLAC. I prefer having my own library on a plex server that I have full control over and can stream anywhere.

Anonymous

The 90s interwebs. I remember when mp3s started becoming A Thing and my then-year-old Windows machine was having trouble running Winamp without skipping and thinking, yeah this mp3 thing isn't going to go anywhere. Time makes fools of us all.

Anonymous

Bruh, this thing reeks of Walden Books...

Anonymous

MP3 sounds exciting as fuck. Ill take 3 of em.

Anonymous

One of the MP3s (in the same folder as jazzen.mp3) read "vamos a la huelga" aka "lets go to the strike", like, I want to hear that!!!!??! Is it a song? A rallying speech in Spanish?? TELL ME PLEASE D:

Anonymous

monky :)

Anonymous

If mp3s can reunite the banana splits, flacs can make us forget the 2019 horror movie (yes, that's a thing)

Kyle Hagerty

oh my god fantastic treasures

Anonymous

DankPods needs to get himself to Cashies and find a stunt double for the Eeeeee Peeeee Ceeeee. Some 2010s laptop with a CD/DVD drive would have REALLY WHIPPED THE LLAMA'S ASS.

Anonymous

Those rocking tunes need to be uploaded to Dropbox so all us Patreons can have a listen 😀👍

Anonymous

@dankpods Any chance you could image that entire CD and give us a download link? Especially since it's one of those very early CDs and therefore probably won't be readable in a few years time...

Anonymous

Your version of boogeyman was better

Anonymous

I’m new here, great content!

Anonymous

It's all gone to hi-res FLACs and streaming now, thankfully

Anonymous

7:33 hey I’ll have you know my bands sound way better than whatever the hell that was

Anonymous

I had to look that up. I can't believe no one watched it. Tra la la...

Anonymous

Instead of saving for a deposit on a house, I spent $10k on CDs back in the day and then ripped them all to MP3s at 192k VBR so I can play them on all my iPod classics. Never say a format is dead, unless you're talking about 8-tracks.

Anonymous

Is it just me or are every single one of these singers completely tone deaf?

Anonymous

I would love if you released the contents of that disc. Would be fun to poke around in

Anonymous

Artificial Love really sounded like a PUSA track to me

Anonymous

Could you post a rip of the CD on archive.org or something? It would definitely be interesting to look at the MP3s. Thanks.

Anonymous

i think the "players" that the book says are on the CD are software music players. one of the executables was winamp!

Anonymous

MMJB; Musicmatch Jukebox! Next to Real Player to play the Simpsons preairs my default go-to player/encoder from the very late 90s. A gem!

Anonymous

IT TAKE BIG.. and make smol

Anonymous

perfect cutoff. i loved this after show <3

Anonymous

Can you do a vid on the AKG K361 and the Philips SPH9600's? I keep hearing that they're the best open and closed back headphones for under $100 and I'm working on a bulk order of headphones for my studio, and I'm curious about your thoughts.

Anonymous

please do an after show about the three jazz degrees

Anonymous

could you maybe, one day, do a vid on the drop.com overear bluetooth cans? THX Panda or something is the name... They're supposedly really good, but I'd like to hear your take on them, oh nugget overlord!

RiskiVR

I'm really curious on those exe programs! By the way did you know you can open exe programs on a Mac with a software called "Wine"

OzRetrocomp

I was today years old when I learned that Mac has Wine on it. I thought it was a Linux thing.

Anonymous

Appreciate ya tried brother! Ill stay subbed another month for the sweet vidyas. dont mind giving ya a dollarydoo

Anonymous

If only MP3s delivered on the promise of world peace.

Anonymous

You should send that in a message he will def see it there

Anonymous

pog im here now

Anonymous

You should image the disk and put it on archive.org

Anonymous

Hey Dankpods, can I ask you a headphone question. I have $300 US dollars that I want to spend on a nice set of headphones. I don’t mind to get wired or wireless headphones. What would you recommend? Thanks man and God bless.

Anonymous

eWell the Huh-Duh Sixhungeos By Senn can be found new for 300-320

Anonymous

I actually own a copy of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Drawing from this same sort of series. They have a whole array of books like this for various topics.

Anonymous

This patreon is easily one of the best dollars I’ve spent ever. I binged all of this dudes videos on YouTube and for a buck I have all of this extra content. Love the vids

Anonymous

are you planning on doing reviews on grados wireless headphones?

Anonymous

i just bought an ipod shuffle 1st gen 512mb because of you! it hasnt showed up yet, but i bet its totally usable in 2021 and sounds like 1000000000000000000 dollarydoo headphones on a 100000000000000000000000000 dollarydoo amp with the most sexy braaided cable the world has seen. after all, its an apple product! but seriously, keep up the good work man!

oglack

This is like the physical equivalent of me skipping through a 12 minute long youtube tutorial to find the 3 minutes of actually useful info

Anonymous

Winamp was like the go to media player back in the day...

Anonymous

I still get MP3s... I mean, the only way to own music today in a convenient way is to buy the mp3 from amazon music.

Bob Goodrich

I love that cornball music they included! And some of that weird history of the MP3 is pretty fun. Shame it was all dry as dust. Wonder if that Winamp installer still works though...

Anonymous

just get a cd, rip it as a FLAC, and then give the cd to a goodwill or something

Anonymous

LOL I laughed just as hard through this video like I did the one on the main channel. I laughed the hardest when the scissors cut the Craig nugget in half.

Anonymous

Love how the book tells you how to operate Winamp from 1999 lmao

Anonymous

Lol Monke Trust sounds like something The Beatles would say hahaha

Anonymous

are we gonna ignore the fact that he has THREE jazz degrees!?

Anonymous

Wow at least the boomers back then would read a 300 page manual. Not like our boomers that need everything spoon fed.

Anonymous

I have to admit, I really like that jazzen song. Too bad I can't find it anywhere online.

Anonymous

I still pirate MP3's like it's 2009, and I'm very proud of it I just like to have control over my files yknow

ARSCON

Just the lack of wanting to properly read anything, no one wants to read instructions anymore.

Anonymous

wait a minute... is this where "Cyberpunk" got the name???

Anonymous

What the hell the guy on the disc sounds almost exactly like maxor wth 🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous

I have a feeling that the CD should be on a CD player instead.

Anonymous

Good stuff Dankpods, check out the headphones worn by Spike Milligan and John Laws in this clip at 28:50 https://youtu.be/vSzQ67QT_Qo Check out the whole video though - Australia as it was! Appreciate your work it has given me much laughter, much like the venerable Spike himself.

Anonymous

Iexplore another flop from Microsoft? It killed netscape and dominated the market for years

Anonymous

is nobody gonna question why he has a bandaid on

Anonymous

It really whips the llama's ass!

Anonymous

I'm mostly intrigued by the Mighty Mouse you have.

Anonymous

I used to turn songs from YouTube into mp3s 9and download them onto my shitty htc phone lol

Anonymous

"No one's using mp3's" Uh, yeah, no one...

Tombfyre

As a Windows user, that hurt my head. WinAmp and MusicMatch were huge in the early days, and he didn't even recognize them.
