It was really hard to care for Elijah after this

Elijah is a family man, the fierceness he protected his family (the mikaelsons) had no bound and not limit. He killed countless innocence to protect them and did so without regret. Because that’s who he is to his core. With his memories wiped he forgot that family and adopted Antoinette’s family. He has spent 7 years with her which to man that remembers nothing before those 7 years are his whole life. So that family was now the one he’s protect with the same ferocity that he once protected the mikaelsons, that includes the death of a mother and child. Only reason we see a huge difference now is the fact that it’s not the mikaelsons that he’s protecting. But I do hate that they made him play this part and Ik it’s not his fault because he doesn’t remember. End of the day he wiped his memory to protect hope and up till now he had done just that
