Yeah, this episode is a tough one. Now, I have some very complicated feelings about Dan because I've never really been able to see him as redeemed like most people, for many things, but this episode kills me. I love the moment at the end of Keith coming and forgiving Dan and them walking off together. And for the most part I do love his scene with Nathan. The only thing that I'm not huge on with that is that it really felt like they were just excusing Dan's abuse towards Nathan and I hated him saying he didn't need to apologise to him, it just felt really uncomfortable for me. But I also get it from Nathan's POV there, he's just tired and wants to forgive Dan and also, I don't think he ever truly dealt with everything Dan put him through. It just feels like they're saying it doesn't matter that Dan abused him, because it helped him make it to the NBA and he wouldn't have his family if he'd been a better Father. That's like, my only complaint of the episode though. The rest I loved. And I did love that scene, it was just that one part of it that made me upset in a different way to everything else...

It’s really hard for me to picture a better send off- Dan’s redemption arc is a textbook perfect redemption arc that’s very well crafted…There is a lot of respect for not shying away from all the wrong things he’s done and not trying to sweep anything under the rug but instead make his sins the main theme of the episode and finally see Dan Scott in his entirety for everything that he is- good and bad…For this ep it wouldn’t make a ton of sense for Lucas to be there, we don’t need them to shift Lucas’s character dynamic in a way that is unrealistic- in one of their last interactions after he got out of jail Dan told Lucas there is no way out of it ‘I’m the villain in your story’- he’s the guy who abandoned him and killed his parent whereas his dynamic with Nathan while dammaged was always different and he was still his father- It’s really emotional to get to the end of this show as to me this episode is officially the beginning of the show closing itself out- I sound like a broken record saying this for every show I watch you close out—-but to think I was watching along your season 1 reactions to this show- Damn! it feels like it was so long ago- yet it still feels like it went by so quickly😅 Such a journey this show is- feels like those characters have been around for so long it is always hard to think we will have to let them go 🥹

Great episode. Haley and Nathan seeing each other again always makes me emotional. I don't think Dan is redeemed for everything he did to everyone over all the years. But this episode is so well done and you can't deny Paul Johanson is a great actor.
