2023-07-06 00:20:09 That last scene of the Fang Gang family hanging out warms my heart every time I see it <3 I'm glad you noticed/called out that Angel just casually killed a guy again because the episode doesn't really address it. It's the second time he's killed a human this season and doesn't seem to care. The guy in 5x01 really really deserved it, but the Angel of old wouldn't have taken it upon himself to make that call. And like you said, that guy he killed in the beginning of this episode could have been another Oz. The most jarring part is that Angel himself doesn't seem bothered by it, and though the narrative isn't really addressing it, I think it's a pretty big shift in who he is. He's become more of a sometimes murderous anti-hero, and his attachment to humanity is kind of slipping imo which Lorne did a good job addressing. Spike is kind of annoying in this episode but I think Spike is just kind of annoying sometimes as a facet of who he is lol. Also if I was him and on the brink of eternity in Hell, I'd be pretty damn pushy too. The next episode is a Spike episode which I think you'll enjoy, but I remember it had an additional viewer discretion warning for being more disturbing and graphic than a standard Buffyverse episode. I think it's the only Buffy or Angel episode to have such a warning, which is saying a lot, so I thought you might want to know that ahead of diving into it. I hope you like horror lol

In the previous episode (Episode 2), it definitely seemed like Wesley had never met Spike before and only knew him by reputation. I think that explains why Fred immediately knew Spike's story of having history with Wesley was false.

Personally, I hate horror but I managed through it. It’s a compelling episode.
