Despite the character assassination of Cordelia, S4 really is an interesting execution of a ‘slow burn’ apocalypse story. From as early as 4x7 Jasmine is playing games and manipulating Angel, the Beast, and everyone else from inside of Angel Investigations itself. Being perfectly placed in Cordy she was able to find and undermine all of the gangs strengths and even preempted any pushback by indoctrinating Connor the way she has. The dominos for her takeover are set up in such a way that once they’re knocked down no one noticed until too late, and despite the weird ride to get here Jasmine is definitely a worthy Big Bad
