I have to admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of Season 4 on first watch, but on repeated viewings, I've come to enjoy and appreciate the season for what it is. The Jasmine storyline is truly fascinating and possibly the creepiest story in Buffyverse history. I definitely get Invasion of the Bodysnatchers-type of vibes, and there's something so disturbing about seeing our strong-willed heroes being turned into mindless slaves.

I understand why all of the Cordelia nonsense is a black eye when many fans think of season 4, but between the Jasmine plot and the Angelus plot with Faith, I honestly think season 4 has some of the most memorable episodes... with the really unfortunate stain of all the Cordelia/Connor ickiness
