RIP Theon, a good man and an absolute beast taking out dozens of walkers by himself. Same goes for Jorah. Those two have been my favourites from the start and I was devastated after this episode. Great reaction Sofie :)

I loved this episode and hated it at the same time. It was pitch black the entire episode, Jon did nothing, one handed Jamie was fighting like he had 3 hands, there are so many gripes I have. There are truly no good plans to fight the dead however the plan they had was a good one. They didn't have the time they truly needed, they didn't know the exact size of the army (besides that it was huge), they didn't have all the variables that were needed. The Dothraki don't fight defensively, they slaughter on horseback in an open field. So, sending them first was smart. The unsullied are great with offense but incredible with defense so having them where they were was smart. Even with both dragons burning the dead they wouldn't be able to beat them until the Night King was dead. So, one dragon should've been close to Bran to follow the Night King when he showed up while the other burned the dead. The entire goal is to kill the Night King before everybody dies. So, softening them up first, then retreating and lighting the trench, then regrouping and defending the castle while waiting for the Night King was a good plan considering there are no good options. That being said I don't blame Jon for not doing much while he was on the dragon. If he was burning the dead, he wouldn't have seen the Night King when he showed up. But once he was on the ground, he should've done much more than he did. Now its winter plus the Night King can control weather. Yet there was hardly any snow on the ground and all the snow in the storm didn't even hit the ground. So, they only have the cold and no visibility but only dirt and mud on the ground. Even with the limited time they had they could've put oil on the ground like in the trench, so it lights up when the dragon spits fire. The archers should've stayed high up and hidden so they can aim only for the White Walkers. Arya killing the Night King was cool but trash. Jon's ENTIRE story was about fighting the dead but all he did was kill some of the dead and yell at the dragon, like wtf man. Arya's ENTIRE story was bringing out the killer within so she can kill her enemies on her list. Jon should've had a 1v1 and they should've either killed each other or Jon is severely wounded during the fight. Arya should be the one to kill Cersi not the Night King. Danny and Drogon should've ripped apart the dead dragon and continued killing the dead until somehow ending up with Jorah like it happened. The way all the other characters died I was cool with, but I feel could've been a bit better on some points. I think the best story would've been that The Lord of Light brought certain characters back in order to save the world and begin a new stronger and peaceful realm. Jon to kill the Night King and then rule with Danny. Berric to save Arya so she can kill Cersi and ensure limited bloodshed and destruction when Danny gets the throne. Sorry rant over lol.

I hate how ppl say Jon did nothing, he did more than Dany and united everyone. So for once hes not fighting the whole time with his sword. Give the guy a break, he fought his ass off like he always does.

SoFie, Loved your reaction as always. I think a lot of us had the same experiences…the hope when the Dothraki Arakhs lit the night🔥 only to fall dark in moments. That seen where the Night King raised his arms and we could see the realization in you what was about to happen even before the first fallen soldier arose…leading to loss of hope and even some laughter at just how bad the situation had become…and of course Theon and Jorah going out in service to the Starks / Daenerys 🫡🫡.

I'm sorry but i'll push back on their plan being smart- You have time to prepare and you want to try to gain time and save live...And you build ONE TRENCH- you put artillery right in the front so you can't use it...cmon now..I would have trench to break their charge and stand behind them not in front, many rows of fire trench combined with Dragon strife, and Unsullied coming in later round the flanks to hit them... would have gained WAY more time for them

The title of the episode should have definitely been “I can’t see shit” 😂😂

Razzer95

The opening fight scenes were infuriating since you could not see anything and I'll never forgive the writers for having Jon prepare for this war since season 1 and then having him do nothing but fly around for the bulk of the episode doing nothing

It was worth waiting. When I first time saw this episode a year ago my first though was "how would Sofie react?" And after you started watch GOT, I was waiting for this episode. Great reaction, Sofie. Thank you. It was like watching it with a close friend who shares your feelings :)

To be fair Jon was at a different position and didn't see any signal, plus he knowd the only way to win is to take out the Night king otherwise everyone dies. Jon stuck to their plan they made last ep. I'm sooo happy u also noticed that the NK feared Jon and made himself look like a bitch when he raised his hands. I'd say it was confirmed when he let Theon charge him but didn't take any chance with Jon because he knows Jon's a beast. The NK is definitely one of the first men, as we saw his symbol in the caves next to the first men. Jon explained them to Dany. Also no the Nk can't bring back those killed with dragonglass, on the people who were killed by the dead.

Dam Sofie I had completely forgot you were due to drop this reaction today so it came as a very pleasant surprise to see it in my emails when I woke up this morning. I wasn’t however ready for the 2 hour emotional rollercoaster I just went on with you. I’ve been up, I’ve been down, I’ve smiled, I’ve laughed and as a 33 year old grown ass Bricklayer I’ve had to wipe away buckets of tears over something I’ve probably seen a dozen times before. I’m usually quite tough but dam it today you got me girl I feel drained. Hats of to you for your reaction you’re a total class act.

This episode is one thing: exhausting !!! The Music to me was 85% of the episode. That rhythmic drum was basically our hearts going faster. I was very happy to see Sophie wearing headphones... in both ears :) The composer (Ramin Djawadi) sees music as colors. He is a real genius. He composed the GoT theme in 2 days. The producers explained that the darkness was done in purpose... obviously. Mentally it helped on the drama and exhaustion everybody felt. Bran: "Theon... you are a good man" was the biggest redemption on the entire series. I link this to what Jon told Theon in s07e07: "you can be a Greyjoy or a Stark". Great reaction by Sophie. Of course she was going to lose it. The episode was deceiving because everybody thought Jon or Daenerys were going to kill the Night King. They were busy trying to survive. Arya was the only assassin on the show so it made perfect sense she was the ONE. Jorah getting those 2 stabs and then standing up to keep protecting Daenerys was unbelievable. Notice the hair on that General of the Night King moving? that was obviously cause by Arya rushing to attack the Night King. How? who knows... :) Sophie, great reaction. you didn't disappoint me. We were all crying with you.

I didn't know that the producer had said that the darkness had been done on purpose. But there is darkness and DARKNESS I suppose. I don't know either if my next point has been addressed on the Internet. Some viewers DID see this episode with pretty good clarity. I was one of those lucky viewers, to the point that I was surprised when I learned later that most viewers couldn't see shit. Is it because of OLED TV, a technology that I understand and could indeed be useful for that particular problem? Or is it because of HDR, Dolby Vision or other technologies that I don't understand? I don't know. I can only suppose that the show makers tested their final product using the best vidéo equipments available, which is understandable, but failed to also test it on video equipments that most viewers would use in the real world.

One fan theory for Jon's behavior is that for a fact whe know that he was on his way to Bran. Viserion was possibly guarding the entrance of the godswood (so the white walkers could do their thing unhindered) and Jon distracted Viserion, so Arya could sneak in. Jon was then actually yelling Goooo to Arya. Arya killing the night king was also the scene immediately following Jon's yelling. The night king was just a rando first men or andal dude. Who was turned in the night king by the children. None of the white walkers can be killed by fire. Their just a bit more special then the whites. The whites can be killed by fire, dragonglass and valerian steel. The white walkers only by dragonglass and valerian steel.
