My Attendance Is Bad but My Intentions Are Good

Brooke and Julian try to find a balance between work and their personal lives; Quinn faces unexpected news; Millicent struggles with temptation.

I'm sorry about the audio guys. I lost the audio recorded with the mic so what you're gonna hear in the video is just the audio from the camera.

I know I'm late but Haley did mention her father dying sometime back in season 5

Jasmine Reigns

Oh sweetheart you’re going to need tissues for the remainder of the season 😭 As much as this cancer storyline hurts me it gave tremendous acting and scenes that just touched your heart 🥹 Can’t wait for you to see what the rest of this season has in store!

Heather

One of the best storylines of the whole series imo. And 1 of the 3 I still cry on everytime.

Lucas

Gosh I almost forgot about this storyline and given the circumstances it will be even harder for you...But this is also the power of OTH..Ultimately the show is about telling stories that have humor and are goodhearted and stories of love but also stories of hardships and loss that we can relate to and that resonate with people. I think the way they do it takes nothing away from the tragedy of loss but remind us bittersweetly of what is important in our lives-friend family loved ones and community..This show is so simple on it's face but I connect with and love this show so much because there are so many situations that I can see in my life that echo through the show and that I can look up to characters for comfort and support

haley not mentioning her father's passing fits her character. It makes sense to me cuz she always puts herself and her problems last and everyone else first and ready to help others trauma or problems before her own.

Heather

Yeah and has to be strong for everyone else. Seems like a role she's had since childhood. That's a lot to put on someone.

I really like Lydia (Haleys mom) but what I don't like is the pressure she puts on Haley in this episode. Saying that she has to be strong for everyone else never seemed fair to me. :) When someone you love or care about is going to or might die, being strong can wait.

2023-01-31 08:27:19 Yeah, this storyline is heartbreaking. As the commenter above said, it's so unfair to put that pressure on Haley to be strong for everyone else. Like, I get it, but it's not fair. And that's why it's so great that she has Nathan, who she doesn't have to be strong for in this situation. <333 I totally get Taylor, it is terrifying when you learn your Mum is dying and there's nothing you can do to stop it. In my Mum's case, she got Chemo and stuff, but when we learned there was nothing that could be done anymore it was absolutely terrifying. I'm quite surprised I didn't react the same way she did... All three of their reactions hurt me though. They're all so real and just so painful. Because of course you're gonna want her to fight it and get treatment, but that doesn't always work and in this case it sounds like it wouldn't. Plus, it makes you feel awful. You WOULD rather just spend your last days with your family feeling as well as you possibly can. So, it's such a small moment, but that scene between Nathan and Jamie at the end makes me so happy! Because Jamie tells Nathan that he might not wanna be a Basketballer like him when he grows up, he might wanna be a Director like Julian. And there's no jealousy that he's found someone else to look up to, there's no anger at him maybe not wanting to follow in his footsteps. There's just support. He really is a great Dad and I love it! <333 I'm so sorry about your friend, and the fact that this storyline is clearly already getting to you. I remember watching this storyline shortly after I lost my Mum to cancer, and it was really hard... It's a really well done story, and so well acted, but that's why it's so hard. <3333
