Her Limted

Warren is like the king of the incels before incels were even a thing lmao. Everything he said this episode is something I read incels say in long forums about how women dont like them.

Nah I'm with Sophie on this one; while it might have been good for Amber's career, Joss put her in the credits for the lolz. He looooves to twist the knife. One of my favorite parts of this episode was the surprise reappearance of Katrina. I'm glad what happened to her wasn't completely forgotten, and I really loved her showing up to torment Warren. And man, consequences be damned - I'm still thrilled every time I watch Warren die. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Many other things to be said about this episode and season overall, but you have to give some credit to Adam Busch for being able to give us a character so despicable that we (almost) cheer as he gets skinned alive. While Allison is a great cryer and is great in this episode, and Sarah is great at everything, Adam has a gift for portraying a misogynistic loser psychopath.

JANJ

I thoroughly agree with you on everything Ava!

The "effect" would have worked much better if they did what they should have done in the first place and had Amber in the credits from the start of season 6. No one would have expected them to kill off a series regular 4 episodes from the finale.

And the award for most satisfying character death in a TV series goes to...! Warren's death was one of those fist pump the air, get up and cheer moments for me. Of course Willow going down a path of absolutely no restraint isn't good, but man seeing Warren die like that was just so satisfying. Agree with what others have said about Adam Busch's portrayal of Warren as well, I sometimes feel like he doesn't get the credit he deserves because we're all so wrapped up in completely hating on Warren & wishing him dead. By all accounts he's actually a really nice person in real life, and he did a hell of a job bringing to life a character as vile as Warren is.

The look of recognition in SoFie’s eyes when Willow said “ bored now” 👨‍🍳😚🤌.

including her in the credits for one episode was a good idea... amber benson never wanted to be in the credits because then she'd be tied to the show as a main character and couldn't work on other projects, etc. but including her in the credits for one episode before her character died meant that she could get royalties off the dvds for the future and also some other perks. but I feel ya because it definitely hits the audience in an unpleasant way

I get such a wave of pleasure watching Willow tear the skin off Warren and he look like raw chicken. What a painful death. Lol.

Ava Sinclair

I've always read he's a great guy in real life. Very gifted actor; I wish I could separate him from Warren but I will always give him kudos for a job very well done.

This ep is so good! Did you notice Willow says "Bored now" right before skinning Warren? It's the same thing Vampire Willow would say. Apparently when Willow goes evil shes easily bored lol

What Buffy was explaining to Xander and Dawn is something she tried to help Faith understand over and over again, it reminds me of that conversation between them on morality and identity from S3E15.

Stargazer1682

That's a bit disingenuous and possibly more folklore than anything, seeing as how Amber was in all except roughly three episodes for season 6, prior to Tara's death. Given some of the known behind the scenes issues, there might have been some reluctance to sign on, but seeing how Joss told her in season 5 his plan to kill her in season 6, it's doubtful they ever even offered her to be part of the main cast, save for the one episode. And it's pretty dubious she'd have said no, given the scope of her participation in the season itself; and that she probably would have been better compensated.

Stargazer1682

Joss wanted to include someone in the credits in the same episode he killed them off ever since the Buffy premiere. He wanted to include the actor who played Jesse in the credits, just for the one episode, as a statement that none of the characters are safe. But being a brand new show, there wasn't money in the budge to do two versions of the opening credits just for that; plus probably logistics of contracts and pay for the actor, etc. The show runners for Angel later fell back on that as the reason for writing Doyle off, to cover for Glenn Quinn's substance abuse problems, as if it had always been the plan to kill Doyle, but clearly Joss wasn't satisfied with that and wanted to really twist the knife.

Martin Waits

Warren is definitely the villain I hate the most (which I guess means that the acting and writing were very effective). He's essentially a soulless human (a la Wolfram & Hart) and more evil than some demons (like Clem). This is the episode you get to root for DW. :D
