Wes's story here is my favorite part of any episode up to this point in the season. It shows how far he has come since Buffy and that he is willing to do whatever he has to in order to protect innocents (even if it went catastrophically wrong in this episode).

Thank you Sofie for saying it! I can't believe how unprofessional and petty Wesley is being that he'd just throw away his friendship with Gunn over a woman he has no right to "claim" anyway (not that you can ever "claim" someone). Even if friendships and family ties are disposable and only romantic relationships matter to him like a typical "nice guy", at the very least don't stake Connor's life on it!

I had the same reaction to Wes getting his throat cut while watching the episode live 20 years ago. Immediate had to look up "can you survive getting your throat cut?" Who'd have thought we'd be that concerned about Wesley Wyndam-Pryce when he was first introduced on Buffy?
