Okay so, the reason why Melissandre thinks the prophecy is about Stannis is because in the books Stannis has an enchanted sword that emits light from the blade which she believes is lightbringer. Also on Dragnstone there are stone dragons which she believes he will be able to reawaken using king's blood or whatever. The reason why the prophecy seems to be in part about Daenerys and other times not is because the prophecy probably isn't about a single person. Look at the Targaryen heraldry, a dragon with three heads. So it is believed that the prince in the prophecy is actually going to be 3 people together...probably Daenerys, Jon Snow, and one to be determined. None of this is going to matter in the show though because in the 5th season the showrunners go past what has been released in the books and the story goes off the rails.

Melissandre doesn't think that Stannis is the promised one because of his sword. Because she thinks that he's the promised one, she facilitates his creation of the sword, therefore she's already convinced that it's him prior to the sword's existence. Why would it be ***? PLEASE STOP SPOILING!!!!!!

Why would it be Jon? Because Jon is so clearly like the main “main” character of the story. Spoil what? This shit isn’t ever in the show. And given how George RR Martin writes (or rather isn’t writing) the last 2 books it probably won’t be in there either. Just eternal speculation.

Book speculation that's dealing with things that are not revealed in the shows for reasons and knowledge of future show events. These are both spoilers. You're intentionally doing this. It's not at all clear in the show who a main character is when you don't have book knowledge! IT'S A DIFFERENT STORY! GET OVER IT AND STOP SPOILING!

You mention the three headed dragon, Targaryens, and Jon as all being linked and all but state that Jon is one of these heads and don't think that this is a spoiler only an episode into season 4? REALLY?!!?! Why don't you just tell her who his mother is while you're at it. There's zero reason for any of these things to be even remotely linked in a first-time viewer's mind at this stage.
