Jeez, I didn't realize that two TVD ladies were also in OTH, Michaela McManus (playing Jules there, that is why you don't like her) and Torrey DeVitto (ex wife of Paul Wesley, playing Meredith Fell there)

I actually like Lindsay. Part of it comes from the fact that a lot of fans hate on her a lot for simply being with Lucas

The reason why you're getting a weird vibe about season 5 is because right off the bat the show took a darker theme. I've said this before but I don't much care for the seasons after 4. It's not that I don't like shows with dark themes. I just thought the progression of the characters was bland.

Although it's hard themes and every one is having a tough go...As Lucas hinted in the episode that's life...And OTH has so much heart, it's really beautiful to see

You’re absolutely right in sensing that there is a different feel to the show. I think that’s because they start this season in a completely different stage of life. New relationships, some new characters and a new atmosphere. It takes a little getting used to the changes, but it’s a good ride ahead. I actually really like Lindsay. You’re right though, the fact that Lucas was able to freely hug Brooke but he couldn’t hug Peyton speaks to their history and makes it seem that he is still in love with her. Brooke is so beautiful ( inside and out)! It is hard to watch Nathan right now and what he is going through. And Haley… The strain it has put on their marriage breaks my heart. The scene where she says “You have a beautiful son who is here. I am here” is so well delivered. The ending seemed to show that he is waking up to that though!

I Am Not Chamari

I'm pretty sure you know this by now, but Lucas was not with Lindsey at the time of the book signing. It seems that he was shortly after that though. Literally that night. You could see that he was pretty thrown off by the kiss on the cheek. Basically, Peyton not showing up pushed him towards Lindsey... And ugh... Lucas/Peyton... Season 5 is a very mixed bag, but I actually do quite enjoy their angst together. It's really really really good. And Chad and Hilarie are just so good performing this kind of stuff. The "your art matters" parallel was just so beautifully placed, because the reason I fell for this relationship in the first place, is their undying belief in each other, even when they're not together. And... I love this storyline for Nathan. It's really good to see him triumph and struggle and have good days and bad days. His recovery, both mental and physical, is not linear. And I think this is a decent representation of that.
