Candice was pregnant irl at this point which is why they did this storyline. They needed an explanation as to why she was pregnant. Haha :)

Yes candice was pregnant at the time and i reacted just like u when they came out with this storyline, but then i remembered in season one when they were in georgia, damon told elena that if a vampire keeps a healthly diet of blood in their sistem, they can pretty much function as normal, thats why they can eat, pee, etc. So i didn't mind the storyline afterall, believe me, i have seen wrost executions to a storyline when a cast member gets pregnant, this one is not so bad

Yeah. I'd rather this that them trying to hide it behind newspapers or boxes, or putting her in a fat suit and having some weight gain storyline. Haha Plus, I enjoyed it... :)

@Sofie trust the writers, there are reasons (multiple) why, that will make perfect sense to a shocking twist of events...keep watching and you'll see. Caroline have inside her body Alaric and Jo twins. She didn't got pregnat, she is just a healthy vassel of Geminy babies that are themself supernatural creature being twins, the one that one day will have to merge to keep the coven alive. So she didn't get pregnant, but she is pregnat. The other reasons for this story line that I thought it was genious is that Candice was pregant in real life, so they wrote this for her. Why do I think is genious? Because this seasons is about choices, possibilities, what makes their life what it is, the actions and the event in their lives that make them all, who they are in the present, the bagage they carry and what could have been in different circumastances. The conversation the two brothers have about their past and their possible future it's beautiful ad so real. As you noticed, they are exploring the significance of death in human life and how important family is, because you can live thousans of lives, do whatever but at the end of the day your life have to find a porpuse in the world. Live a life without love and family has little porpuse and family can have very different shape and different type of love, hence Caroline and Alaric. I find this message very beautiful and poetic.

It's what I say about this season...Moments of brilliance amongst a sea of very convoluted storylines arranged in a very very messy way....I do love the parallel between Julian and their father Guiseppe....You were right in assuming considering in passing Stefan mentions Julian's right hook is more hefty, ie implies strongly their father abused them since it implies he experience Guiseppe's as well...And also so heartbreaking how it pissed Damon off immediately! it was punches so they weren't going to harm Stefan a lot but Damon told him to stop immediately and was so triggered by that

it makes sense that the coven would put the twins in a vampire who can survive injuries and danger compared to kai going after a human. It makes sense with candice being pregnant and like someone said in the comments in season1 they explain how the vampire body can function with a healthy diet. They cant make babies obviously but the magic making the babies stay inside of caroline is possible due to vampirism is magic and you'll see how that works later on with the coven twins and caroline being a vampire.

Lily mentioned that the guests from the party were from neighboring towns. And honestly, I have always wondered why they haven't dropped more Bonnie and Enzo nuggets, at least in Season 6, because they have been absolutely brilliant in these past couple episodes. Stefan... Damon is usually accused of being the rash and impulsive one, but Stefan went in to kill a vampire, hundreds of years older than him, with literally no plan. He couldn't even go straight for the heart. I obviously get his frustration and incessant need to kill Julian, but not to the point where you get both himself and Damon killed.

This was in a way painful, Stefan would be an amazing father- and Damon lost his nephew. I totally see Damon as an uncle 😆 the drunk one. No but they’d both be great dads!!
