I didn't like Stefan around Elena that relationship felt not right, it brought the worse out of him, he was petty, manipulative, brooding. Around Caroline Stefan is something else, he is funny, mature, positive, she bring the best out of him, they are adorable together and them getting closer feels more organic, they have a great friendship and be friends is always a very good starting point for a possible relationship, if that is ever going to happen. And yes, the dopplegangers right couples would have been Stefan / Katherine and Elena /Tom. I do believe that Elena and Damon are acting like a married couple, but they are both stabborn and they need to realise that adult love sometimes is messy and needs working on, but they really love each other and it is very difficult for them to be apart and not to make love, they are magnet, they are kidding themself if they think they can resist staying apart.

The way Sterolines wholesomeness takes over all their scenes 💕 Steroline and Delena are so perfect in two VERY different ways. Damon and Elena had this intense, passionate attraction since the very start, they fell fast and hard and they can't be "Just friends". Stefan and Caroline became friends first, they bring out the happiest sides of each other and they're falling slowly but surely as they get to know each other. I love them both so much, both ships bring out the best in each other, making the other person have fun and enjoy life in a different way than they do when they're with other people.

I love the scenes between Delena and Steroline this episode!!! Damon being back in his funny, seductive and charming element. After the break-up last night, we get to see them sexually frustrated the next morning and it is another element of their relationship, they do not shy away from. Their passion is off-charts and just because Elena classified last night a mistake wasn't going to mean that she no longer desires him. When Damon is torturing Liv, again Elena tries to make him understand that it is this kind of behaviour that caused them to break up to begin with. And he tries to make her understand that if he didn't step in and take extreme measures like this, she wouldn't even be around to break with him. She would just be dead. It's a fight they have been having from the beginning. How extreme is too extreme when you love someone is in danger. Again the letting go scene in the end was beautiful and soft. If 5x16 break-up was representative of their overwhelming love and the toll of their all consuming love could have on them, this episode was an example of the sweeter, more mature side to their relationship. A relationship that isn't just about loud fights and rough break up sex. A relationship that was always about more than just the wilder side of things. It is also about romance. The best kind of romance. They are soft with each other. Tender in a way that is entirely unique to them. They're all about the face caress, the forehead or cheek kiss, the hair tuck behind the ear. Elena's whole speech was not about how it was over between them. The purpose of deciding to spend some time apart was to ensure they could heal from everything that has happened in the last few weeks. And I love how she asked Damon to to let her go because she knew if she was going to ask he would let her go but she couldn't do it on her own. And he honored her request. He didn't push her. it is so beautiful. This season so far has been all about the problems for Delena as a couple and I guess we all knew and they knew that it wasn't going to be easy because it never was. But right now, it is more about Elena being able to clear head and understand that the world is not black and white and definitely not in the vampire world.

Steroline are cute and beautiful!! It is so adorable to see the growing care and being witness to the importance both of them have in each other's lives. I agree Sofie, as of now we are only seeing things on Caroline's part becoming slightly more intense and for Stefan, it still seems more of the best friends vibes. I love seeing Stefan with Caroline period. It has a organic feel to this relationship simply because it doesn't seem to be pushed too fast or planned. Stefan came to Mystic falls and when he saw Elena, he wanted to know her and be a part of her world so that wasn't so organic in my pov and he couldn't be completely honest with her ever and vice-versa, They always had issues communicating because they didn't want to come down from the pedestal the other person placed them on. It was straining. But in this case, both Delena and Steroline have the bond of deep rooted friendship. It would be great to see them flourish if so in the near future. And another important in this episode was the highlight of how far can these four people go to protect their loved one. I didn't find it random but something very clever of the writers. Both Caroline and Stefan hesitate to take extreme measures and they are not actually able to go through with it even if it is for someone they love/care about. Whereas Delena would do anything to make sure their loved ones are safe even if it even means to take away their free will at times. I am not saying one is better than the other but I find it something of significance. Because matters like these I believe are too important for people to not be on the same page for any kind of relationship to not be strained. If you share similar thoughts on these important decisions, it makes it easier for the other person to understand and not judge you.

Even I am liking Enzo a lot!! In a way he reminds a little bit of S1 Damon because Enzo is looking for a old flame and I really liked the flirty banter between him and Caroline. But from all of this, I can understand that he is trying to find friends and build meaningful relationships. His friend Damon has build a life and I guess it would make absolute sense that it is possible for him to do the same too so why not? Also whenever he is talking about soldiers, I find it so...I cannot think of the right word but it has an impact.

Steroline yessss most adorable 2 ppl to brighten our screen. Their just perfect together be it as best friends or as a couple I wanted to see them together since S2 but this here is just too freaking adorable and pure 😻♥️ I loved how Damon kissed Elena on her forehead instead of making her stay that was very sweet of him. As u rightly said Delena is growing slowly their relationship and connection is getting deeper even tough there are many ups and downs in their relationship but which relationship doesn’t have them. Their so real and these differences is actually getting them closer which is nice to see. Poor Tom though RIP 🥺 I love enzo he was so funny this episode he has really brought a good dynamic to the show a great addition to the story for sure…

It’s so fitting that Stefans doppelgänger would be a doctor. He has the healing heart. I also have always loved how much Caroline looks out for and respects Stefan. Someone’s got to, and since lexis gone, she’s done such a good job at looking after him. Idk, I think Enzo and Caroline have really good natural chemistry. O think I’m in the minority that doesn’t want Steroline. N,y because theyre chemistry reads as Friends to me.
