(I can't recall what happens this season, or what other people had to say about all this so I guess my comment really is spoiler free) The writers knew what the fandom thought about the sire-bond, so it's a bit weird that they introduced this doppelganger-bond. I don't know what I feel about stefan saying that "he just had to know elena" as the reason of sticking around in mystic falls; elena saying she "fell instantly for stefan" and katherine is "always gonna be stefan." I guess their bonds aren't that strong/durable since stefan hates katherine, katherine ghosted stefan for 100+ years and elena is in love with someone else. Anyways, <3 Delena vs the Universe.

Damon and Elena are yet again going to fight another fight against the whole universe plot. Your theory does make sense Sofie about how doppelgangers human versions should fall in love with each other or at least find each other and be strongly attached in one's life. But then again in Elena's case she did start falling for Damon as a human first and later as any other vampire her feelings magnified. You will find out more about how the universe plot is linked. Damon's little speech about how he doesn't let people tell him how to live his life or who to love is all heart ❤️ it's not easy for him to completely ignore the information given to him by Qetsiyah because he has seen this happen repeatedly already a couple of times whether it was Elena or Katherine saying that it's always going to be Stefan. But like he said he would hold on to every hope he has to believe that Delena will survive. Looking forward to the reaction to more episodes as you find out more with each episode.

Oh boy, Delena vs the universe. We all know this destiny crap is ridiculous. Elena fell out of love with Stefan last season and now she's still supposed to be his soulmate? Sorry, don't buy it. Off topic, am I the only one who has a little crush on Sofie? Surely not. 😂❤️

The universe make the doppleganger to find each other and feel in love for each other but they still have choice and it is true Stelena was faithed but Delena is free will choice and that is the beauty of it, Delena is true love, stronger then anything else.

Tatia is still technically the Original doppelganger because she is the first recreation of Amara. Or, at least that's how I understood it.

Sofie you're asking the right questions about what Qetsiyah said. She said that Silas and Amara's doppelgangers are attracted to each other, meet and even fall in love, but it wasn't said that they will love each other forever. Stefan had stopped loving Katherine, and Elena had been in love with Damon since she was a human. Even Tatia had her own history with Elijah and Klaus. Plus, Qetsiyah is an obsessive and unstable witch who has spent a huge number of centuries in the afterlife. She's obsessed with Silas and everything about him. So I think there is some exaggeration in Qetsiyah's story.

Oh my Sofie I love your reactions and your guesses etc it’s so interesting. That last Delena scene was so beautiful Damon’s little speech to Elena and with that music wow so romantic 😍 I love Quetsiyah she’s badass and pre historic Paul Yess so very hot for me both Paul and Ian look the best this season.

I agree with you Sofie and if we take this history of doppelgängers thing it would mean that they just get attracted to each other and “fall” in love which can also mean that it’s due to this sin of Silas and Amara. Which makes Stelena seem they fell in love due to this and not real love and I don’t believe this I loved Stelena when it was at the start and I will say they did love each other for real and then she fell out of love from Stefan and fell for Damon even when she was a human. I love Delena but also I won’t accept that Stelena wasn’t real. Like no ways.

The long lost question of doppelgangers is answered in season 5...vampire diaries never dissapoints.....nobody would've thought in a million years that the silas and the cure storyline would bring us back where we started in season 1

Amara was human so taking the cure and not being immortal would make her human, resulting in Silas being stuck on the other side with Tessa because he was a witch/traveler I think.... 😂

The problem is he CAN'T DIE as a vampire/immortal. According to the hunters the cure was made to kill Silas. Other than curing him of his immortality there is NO other way to kill him. Tessa created the other side so even if he took the cure removing his immortality he'd still be a witch and since he's supernatural he would be stuck there with her in purgatory. Now we all know the supernaturals on the other side are alone but not witches. This would explain why witches can communicate on the other side but other supernatural beings can't. It seems Tessa designed it to make sure Silas would be stuck WITH HER. As for just how psycho and vindictive Tessa is... we'll get there. For the most part you aren't confused Sophie. You're asking many of the right questions. \

The universe destined Stefan and Elena to be together and her love for Damon was so strong it overcame destiny and changed fate. That's how I see it.
