haha love ur reaction to Giles accent. The best part is that's Anthony Head's actual accent from where he grew up... the normal Giles accent is the fake one.

This episode was a riot!!

As mentioned, this is closer to Tony Head’s real accent and he coached James Marsters on his British accent, since James is American. So Spike sounds like Ripper, not Ripper sounds like Spike 😛

Great reaction, as usual! This is one of those episodes that I always look forward to when reactors get to season 3. I think my favorite part is Giles's jumping fist pump of triumph when Buffy hits Ethan. Everything is fantastic, except as you said, for the Willow/Xander stuff. I've always chosen to blame the writers for that more than the characters. There's just no romantic chemistry between the two of them, so it feels like artificial, unnecessary drama.

Even if I didn't love this episode, your laughing and smiling would have been contagious!

I loved your reaction to this, I was waiting for it. There are quite a lot of deep and moody episodes in all the series so seeing you fall off your chair was hysterical. @Sir Deb. Gives grew up in Camden Town, which has a few accents but his natural accent is closer to Giles. He adds on the Hugh Grant(ish) stutters. It makes doing the accent easier, the ‘ripper’ accent is more like Thamesside. It’s not pure Cockney. . He’s about the same age as me and If I heard that accent I’d say anywhere from Stratford,, Leyton, Dagenham along out to South End. I’m from Mile End, Check out his interviews - not the one with Craig Ferguson, they are both messing about. And if you’re interested dial up Cockney vs. Essex on YouTube. By the way, getting working class people to pull off a proper ‘I went to Cambridge old boy!’ accent is really hard! That’s why we don’t try, it’s much easier for a middle class Anthony Head to learn Thamesside.. I gotta admit the first tike he slipped into that I was ... what? I loved your reaction SoFie. By the way. I’m having a battle on all fronts with the ‘he’s like a Dad’ thing. I’m not sure if the ‘ I’m your watcher, now ..’ breaks the father stereotype.

Loved your reaction to this one! I have always enjoyed this episode a lot. Snyder was a hoot, and the Giles/Joyce interactions were well done also. It was good to see you laugh so hard, after some of the rougher episodes from the end of season 2. Keep up the amazing work, looking forward to more!

Oh, this reaction gave me so much happy. Your reaction to Giles was epic. Oh, and I agree, Giles is so, so sexy. And I loved your reaction to the Giles and Joyce pairing. And Snyder too. Snyder was so funny in this one and I love him here. You are, hands down, one of my favorite reactors. I'm so glad I found you.

Thom Purdy

This is the first episode written by Jane Espenson, but not the last. She's the best one at writing humor. When you see her name in the writing credits, odds are you're in for a treat!!

One of my fave episodes of anything ever. Just brilliantly done. Giles is absolutely hilarious in this. "Let's go out, tear things up a bit." Also, I love Snyder in this. As someone else mentioned before, Willow and Xander had no romantic chemistry whatsoever, so it's a little awkward watching them together in that way.
