I love this reaction. I can not wait for more of season two from you, Sofie! Just want to clarify one quick thing with regards to your question as to why the gang wasn't figuring out that Buffy had PTSD. Back then, people weren't nearly as aware of how PTSD works, or the way it manifests in people. A lot of people didn't even know what it was, or if they did, the only understanding the majority of people had with it is like, say, when women who have been attacked become terrified when they go into a room where the assault took place, or say, a soldier who runs for cover when a car backfires because they think it's a bomb going off. Those are usually the ways in which it was portrayed on TV at that time, and until this episode of Buffy, it has never been shown like this. And even if people were as aware of the symptoms as they are now, there is no way Willow and Xander would know what was going on. Not at their age. The only way teenagers like them would know is if they had prior experience with it, like if a family member has PTSD. Even Miss Calendar and Giles wouldn't necessarily get it, because if they had any knowledge of PTSD, it would be very limited. Xander gets a lot of flack for what he said to Buffy about Willow, but he had no idea why she was shutting them out and behaving like they they're just "civilians." To him, it looked as if her shutting them out and pushing them aside almost got Willow killed. In his head, that would have been all lumped together with the other mean things she did. It would have looked to him as if she was just being a bitch, and that almost cost the life of his best friend, whom he would be terrified of losing. What he said was terrible, but he wasn't thinking straight, he didn't get what was wrong with her, and it wouldn't be remotely believable if he had known.
